Anime Overload has a great spread of various unit types like pure DPS, supporting/debuff DPS units, cleanse units and farm units. Finding the right balance and team setup is key for late-game modes and challenges. Here’s my Anime Overload tier list for the best units and traits.

Anime Overload Best Units & Traits
The best units in Anime Overload are split across two categories with the pure DPS units with the best damage and the supporting units with debuffs/CC. That’s why I’ll split each tier into these two categories. For pure DPS units in S-Tier and A-Tier, they’re interchangeable based on the element you need (Check which element is best for that specific level). As for support/debuff units, they also have high DPS like Red Hair but also contribute with enemy debuffs/ally buffs. Make sure to bring at least one or two Debuff DPS units since they deal great damage while providing various supporting effects. Let’s dive into each unit below and talk about what they’re good at and the best traits for them.
EVO: I’m ranking the Evolved versions of all units at their peak and you can consider their unevolved versions as one or two tiers lower (For example, if BH SS is S then BH Serious is A and base BH is B).
Best Mythics To Focus On: Sukuna and Bald Hero for Hybrid DPS.
Best Beginner Units: Inoomaki for a great beginner support, Yono for early Air, Buls/Sunji for great early burn DPS and Jaken Hunter (Kid)/Ener for easy Legendaries that evolve into high-tier late-game units.
Cleanse: Wend (Legendary) and Sakuro (Epic) are easy-to-get units that cleanse status effects (Great supports for harder stages).
Farm: Eskanor (Legendary) and SpeedCart (Epic) are always useful to have for economy.
Meta Team: Red Hair for support, 3 Pure DPS units from S-Tier, at least one Farm and then filler based on your needs.
S-Tier DPS
| Unit | Ranking Explanation |
|---|---|
Bald Hero (Super Serious) Mythic 100% Shopping Coupon – Act 2 Namek |
• Amazing beginner unit for a quick Hybrid DPS • But also scales into the late-game with its two EVOs • You want him at the front for constant attacks to proc his crit buffs • The ultimate destroys shields and stuns which is amazing utility Best Trait: Overloaded |
Crimson Queen (Dominant) Event Secret EVO Chains – Event Shop Makima NPC outside of Summon |
• Late-game Meta DPS unit • Stacks damage buffs and gains massive crit when CCed • Also deals heavy bleed damage with both her abilities and her ultimate • The ultimate shreds bosses Best Trait: Overloaded |
Strongest Alien (Burst) Gem Banner Secret (8000 Pity, Gems = 400k/320k VIP) |
• Harder to get than Mythics but deals a ton of damage with a nuke active • Situationally, he’s better than Crimson Queen due to the Hybrid attacks • That said they fill the same secondary role of Nuke/Boss Killer Best Trait: Overloaded |
S-Tier Support/Debuff DPS
| Unit | Ranking Explanation |
|---|---|
Red Hair (Conqueror) Gem Banner Secret (8000 Pity, Gems = 400k/320k VIP) Gryphon – Marine Fortress Act 3 + Sky Island Act 3 |
• Tons of damage and tons of stuns • Has auto-crits and overall is a Meta unit Best Trait: Overloaded |
A-Tier DPS
| Unit | Ranking Explanation |
|---|---|
Song Jinuu (Necromancer) Raid Secret EVO Item in Monarch’s Dungeon Raid Shop |
• A Meta Hybrid DPS unit that summons on-kill, is immune to all debuffs and perma stacks damage on summon kills • His ult is really good utility since it not only deals massive burst damage but also makes it easy to gain shadows and buffs them • He’s best with Evo from Raid Shop, the 4th Upgrade to start stacking and the Overload trait for max DPS Best Trait: Overloaded |
Igrus (Arise) Empty Throne Raid Evo Item in ET Raid Shop |
• Great in for crowds with Blood-Red Vanguard and good against bosses with Sovereign Duel • Very flexibile unit and the DPS numbers are good • Plus scales with game length with the on-kill buffs so he’s great in longer modes • Overall very good unit for specific modes but not Meta Best Trait: Overloaded |
Choy (Ultimate Weapon) Mythic EVO Item in Monarch’s Dungeon Raid Shop |
• Requires a bit of expensive upgrades but becomes a really strong Hybrid AOE DPS unit • He deals so much AOE and Burn damage that he’s excellent both in base modes and to exploit elemental interactions in special modes • The downside is that he gets stunned when he overheats but he still applies Burn when stunned Best Trait: Voidborn |
Sokona (Domain) Mythic Cursed Finger – JJK Legend Stage/Cursed Arena Act 2 |
• A Meta Hybrid unit that competes with Secrets post nerfs • Sokona deals a ton of AOE burst damage both with base abilities and ult • A great Hybrid option to get ASAP Best Trait: Nullshot |
Cha’Hain (Pristine) Mythic EVO Item in Monarch’s Dungeon Raid Shop |
• A decent alternative Bleed Base & Ult DPS similar to Makima in playstyle but lower DPS levels • Scales with attack speed dealing impressive damage in Flow Stat and has great defenses to dodge debuffs and attacks • Quite good now with the new buffs due to having an Ultimate and better than Beak who doesn’t have one Best Trait: Overload |
A-Tier Support/Debuff DPS
| Unit | Ranking Explanation |
|---|---|
Goju (Unlimited) Mythic Azure Eyes – Act 3 Cursed Arena |
• Tons of utility with enemy slows and reducing their buffs • Pierces shields • The ultimate is a massive AOE stun which is a great supporting ability • Plus, he has great AOE damage for clearing crowds Best Trait: Voidborn |
Ener (Lightning) Mythic Legend Stage Sky Act 3 Unit Lightning Drums – Act 2 Sky Island |
• Has a ton of AOE damage and stuns to stall enemies • Also has great self buffs as he progresses his Vari Bar • At max bar you can do an AOE stun similar to Goju so Ener is a great support to bring Best Trait: Overloaded |
Sosoke (RS) Mythic Purple Eyes – Act 1 Ninja Leaf |
• Excellent utility unit for both Ground damage and stalling enemies • You get slows with trance • You also get damage amplification for all your units when Sosoke marks them with dark flame • Overall good support unit Best Trait: Voidborn |
B-Tier DPS
| Unit | Ranking Explanation |
|---|---|
Jaken Hunter (Adult) Mythic |
• A jack of all trades with decent DPS and stuns • Leans more toward DPS due to massive damage with his second ability • Boss killer Best Trait: Overloaded |
Beak (Beast) Mythic EVO Item in Monarch’s Dungeon Raid Shop |
• Flexible both for AOE and single-target damage thanks to Apex Predator • Lower utility than higher tiers since he has no ultimate and passives are just about DPS • The passive self-buffs make him great at destroying low HP enemies • That said, while the DPS is decent, there are more useful units for a Meta team Best Trait: Voidborn |
Kaitou (Scythe & Trinity) Guild Shop Mythic |
• Even though Strongest Alien and Sukuna are better Kaitou is still a competitive DPS • Trinity & Scythe deal amazing DPS and bleed damage for bosses and has an execute ability for low HP mobs • Scythe & Trinity are the best DPS with Hammer being an okay Support and Gun being weak DPS Best Trait: Voidborn |
Chain Man (Psychotic) Mythic EVO Heart – Event Shop Makima NPC outside of Summon |
• After the buffs and nerfs Chain Man is actually pretty strong • His rapid damage ups in a group make him excellent for crowd control Best Trait: Nullshot or Overloaded |
Devil Knight (Berserk) Mythic |
• Great Hybrid DPS alternative to the higher tiers • Would be higher if he stacked his ability faster and had a higher chance for his double attacks • A bit situational since you need Physical/Dark/True units to benefit from his AOE damage buff Best Trait: Overloaded |
B-Tier Support/Debuff DPS
| Unit | Ranking Explanation |
|---|---|
Susano (Indra) Secret Unit – Act 3 Ninja Leaf Chakra Bolt – Act 2 Ninja Leaf |
• The stunning aura is really strong making Susano an excellent support • Plus you get a strong Air option • The DPS is a bit weaker than some other S-Tiers so he’s a good A-Tier unit Best Trait: Voidborn or Overloaded |
Kid Psychic (99%) Mythic |
• Gains buffs each Wave and if nearby enemies get CCed • Once fully stacked becomes a great DPS/Support unit • The support power mainly comes from the Repel effects to stall enemies Best Trait: Voidborn |
Death Surgeon (Operation) Mythic Surgeons Cap – Marine Fortress Act 2 |
• Not a priority to rush Evolving but has nice supporting options with the slow • A decent support Ground DPS mix Best Trait: Voidborn |
Fallen Saint (S-Rank) Mythic Empty Throne Raid Shop for EVO |
• Can be a good support if you build your team in a specific way by including the same element • Scales well if you include units of the same element excluding non-element units like True or Physical • Boosts their Range and Damage with quite impressive numbers • Power depends on how you build your team Best Trait: Any that boosts range |
C-Tier DPS
| Unit | Ranking Explanation |
|---|---|
Maine (Final Push) GamePass Mythic |
• Weaker compared to other Hybrids but really good when compared to all units overall due to Hybrid attacks • Can put out decent damage on bosses will full stacks and strips shields away with Ultimate which is great utility • That said not a hugely useful unit on average due to low DPS numbers Best Trait: Overloaded |
Natso (Fire & Lightning) Legendary |
• Decent Burn damage but there are better options • Can be sometimes useful for elemental weaknesses and Burn synergy |
Vegetable (Almighty) Legendary |
• A weaker version of Kaitou’s Scythe execute • Can be decent for beginners as long as you keep him towards the front for constant attacks |
Tojee Legendary |
• Not the most powerful raw DPS-wise but a quick access to shield breaking which is incredibly useful |
C-Tier Support/Debuff DPS
| Unit | Ranking Explanation |
|---|---|
Greye (Frost) Mythic |
• Decent Ground DPS units with useful Support status effects • You want Voidborn, not Overloaded because the more copies you have the more you can spread out the status effect • That said not the most useful compared to higher tiers Best Trait: Voidborn |
Imperial Silver (Prime) Mythic Shake Fruit – Marine Fortess Act 1 + Sky Island Act 1 |
• A decent unit to bring for a mix of DPS and a bit of Repel for stalling enemy units • A mix of support and DPS that’s just slightly weaker than the A-Tiers but the best B-Tier • A nice bonus to bring for farming Evolve materials due to increased material drop chance Best Trait: Voidborn |
Kaitou (Hammer) Mythic |
• A decent DPS/Support mix with the Stuns • Scythe and Trinity deal better DPS though Best Trait: Voidborn |
Yono (Spirit) Mythic |
• Great beginner Air unit to rush and Evo • A mix of DPS and slowing Best Trait: Voidborn |

Windrose‘s map might appear pretty small at first, but it expands quickly once you explore new areas. After a certain point, traveling from one point to another will take a lot of time, whether you travel the distance on land or by ship.
Thankfully, there’s a pretty elaborate fast travel system that’s been added from the demo to the early access version.
How does fast travel work in Windrose
If you’ve played the demo of Windrose, you’ll be pretty well aware of the system in place. If you’re someone completely new, read on. Once you’ve completed the first quest and started How My Shore Adventure Began (can’t miss as it’s part of the main story), you’ll be able to smelt your first copper ingot.
Once you know how to get Copper Ingot, you’ll be able to make a Fast Travel Bell using the Workbench. You’ll need 10 Copper Ingots and three Ropes to create a bell. Incidentally, you can also get Fast Travel Bell as random loot.
To set up a network, you’ll also need to create a Fast Travel Point. You can do that from the build menu. To create a Fast Travel Point, you’ll need 20 Wood and one Fast Travel Bell.
Before you can fast travel, you’ll need at least two points in two different locations. You can create two points on the same island, but they have to be distant from one another. Fast Travel Points can only be placed near water.
When you’re on your ship, you can fast travel from any location by selecting the point. This works as long as you’re not being chased by an enemy or in active combat. If you’re walking on foot, you’ll have to travel to a Fast Travel Point manually. I am unsure as to why the system works like this, but it is what it is.
Additionally, you can also find random Fast Travel Points existing in several locations. The different faction islands also have them, and you can use those after activating them by manually traveling to those locations. Once done, those travel points will be automatically added to your network.
