Two miis falling in love in front of pink background in tomodachi life living the dream

The many Miis who call your island home can interact in lots of different ways in Tomodachi Life Living the Dream. Naturally, you may come to wonder whether they have the option to fall in love, and if so, how to make this happen between two characters.

Your involvement is crucial in helping all types of relationships form and develop around the island, so this type of bond won’t happen on its own. Instead, you have to help the process along, so here’s how to get Miis to romance each other in Tomodachi Life Living the Dream.

Does Tomodachi Life Living the Dream have romance?

Tomodachi Life Living the Dream does have romance, and any adult Miis on your island can crush on and eventually fall in love with any other character who matches their dating preferences. You play a huge role in all relationships that develop on your island, so it’s easy to steer them away from a crush or help them delve deeper into it, depending on what you want to happen.

How to get Miis to fall in love in Tomodachi Life Living the Dream

There’s no guaranteed way to make two Miis fall in love and romance each other, but you can do your best to encourage and guide their behavior towards a romantic relationship with careful planning. Here’s a breakdown of everything you can do to help make it happen.

  • Make sure your Miis dating preferences are set the way you want them to be. Characters can only develop feelings for Miis who match the dating preferences you specified for them during character creation. You can edit their dating preferences right after selecting their gender. If you skipped this step or wish to edit the choices you made, press X to open the menu, click on the Residents tab, and select the character you want to edit. Choose the dating preferences section and check or uncheck your desired options.
  • Have the Miis you wish to develop a romance become great friends and spend lots of time together. Before a romance can happen, your chosen Miis first need to get to know each other. Drag and drop them close to each other frequently, allowing their bond to flourish as they spend more time together.
  • Wait and hope for the best. Romance is random and unpredictable, which means it can happen at any point once two Miis know each other. In one relationship, I had a Mii start crushing right after the first conversation. In another, it took around 10 interactions before one of the Miis started developing feelings. There’s nothing you can do to speed up or help this process along other than have them hang out and interact often.

  • Encourage the romance. Once a Mii does start developing a crush, you’ll get a special romantic cutscene where they start blushing while staring at the character they’re having feelings for. Usually, it’s over a sparkling pink background, so when you see sparkles, you’ll know it’s finally time. After this, they’ll ask you if you think they might be in love. To help progress this bond to a romance, you should always tell them you do think it’s love or that they would make a great couple. Alternatively, you can also discourage the crush at this point if you don’t want the Mii to pursue the selected character romantically. They’ll get over the crush right away if you do this.
  • Keep building the bond. Recognizing the crush is only the first step. After this, do your best to keep having the two Miis interact, as the one who developed feelings likely won’t want to act on them right away. Crushes can fade away, so it’s important to keep the pair interacting to try to keep it alive.
  • Look for a love Pondering. When a Mii is ready to confess, they’ll have a pink love Pondering bubble floating over their head. Interact with it and encourage them to reveal their true feelings. If all goes well, they’ll then be able to delve into an actual romantic relationship.

Relationships can be, and often are at first, one-sided. You have to give the bond time to grow, and hope the other Mii develops feelings too, or that they reveal them when the first Mii who had feelings decides to confess.

All romance requirements in Tomodachi Life Living the Dream

If you just can’t get a romance to happen, there’s a chance this might be because some key requirements haven’t been met. Here’s everything that’s needed to allow a romance to potentially occur.

  • Miis must know each other, meaning they need to have officially met.
  • The Miis must match each other’s dating preferences.
  • Both Miis must be in the same age group, meaning they must both be adults.
  • Miis cannot be family members, so check to make sure you didn’t accidentally set them as this during character creation.

There’s plenty more to get done in Tomodachi Life Living the Dream. Next, you may wish to learn how to get all personalities, how to unlock all shops and facilities, how to get Warm Fuzzies, and what all of the personality traits are.

Players exploring the world of Windrose

Tumbaga Ingot is one of those rare materials that you’ll need to find in Windrose, which is required to ascend different equipment. It’s one of the several types of Ingots you can obtain in the game. However, you can’t smelt it, which makes the process more difficult.

Let’s find out how you can get this unique ingot on your pirate adventure.

How to find Tumbaga Ingots in Windrose

So, you can’t smelt and make Tumbaga Ingots. In fact, you can only find it in specific locations. To find Tumbaga Ingots, you’ll have to head inside Ancient Ruins. Ruins are marked on the map, but their locations will be different due to the nature of the game’s map.

When you reach an Ancient Ruins, you’ll find a cellar entrance. Just look around the ruins, and you’ll find the cellar. Take the entrance to reach underground, and look around. Look for chests that are located in the ruins. Be careful, as you’ll find enemies (I found them during my rounds, but this can once again be different in your case).

Open the chests, and you’ll find Tumbaga Ingots. On my save, they’re not guaranteed, but the spawn rate appears to be quite common. However, they only appear to spawn inside the specific chests found in Ancient Ruins. This could change in the future since Windrose is in early access, and there will be updates.

How to use Tumbaga Ingots in Windrose

When you find a Tumbaga Ingot and read its description, it says that it’s required for ascending weapons. Since I am in the mid-game stage, I haven’t actively reached the stage where the weapons can be ascended. It’s tied behind a quest.

While it will take some time before you can ascend weapons, you can upgrade them quite early in the game. If you choose to upgrade them, you can improve their stats and how they function. Ascension, on the other hand, adds new skills for the weapons.
