Certain survivors in Quarantine Zone: The Last Check will try to smuggle in Contraband—completely illegal items.
The Contraband feature activates after the first few days of play. You’ll start noticing survivors appearing with bags. When you open these bags, certain items will pop up on the nearby table. Then begins your task of segregating them based on their nature.

Which items should you take in Quarantine Zone: The Last Check
Whenever you find anything dangerous in the bag, you should snatch it immediately. Here’s a list of items that you should immediately seize.
- Guns
- Bullets
- Modified weapons
- Melee weapons like knives and sticks
Basically, you’ll want to seize anything the survivor can use to attack someone else. You’ll occasionally also find some who carry infected body parts. You should immediately seize the item and treat the survivor as an infected.
Which items are safe in Quarantine Zone: The Last Check
Here’s a list of everyday items you’ll find in bags that are entirely safe.
- Books
- Food items (no, don’t take them. You can’t use them in your outpost)
- Soft toys
- Memoribilias
- Occasional rare and personal items
- Gardening items
These items are considered to be safe to carry, and you shouldn’t take them. If you do, you’ll be fined $100 for every wrong item. Since you can’t return what you pick, selecting several wrong items will negatively impact your balance.
