In Octopath Traveler 0, you won’t be limited to a handful of skills. You can learn plenty of other skills outside of your starting list—but that’s only if you can find and equip the Mastery for them.
Most Masteries are tough to acquire. Many are guarded by Elite Enemies, while others must be purchased for exuberant sums, fought for from NPCs, or found hidden around the map. Occasionally, you might see one pop up in Ludo’s store in Wishvale if you’re lucky (and if you’ve unlocked several Trade Lists). When you’ve unlocked all of a companion’s skills, you can also spend JP to unlock the Mastery for that skill to then equip it on another character.
If you’re looking for a specific Mastery, you’ve come to the right place. We’ve put together a list of all the Masteries in Octopath Traveler 0, both active attacks and supporting ones. Some of these Masteries can appear in more than one place, and we’ve included only locations we were able to confirm for ourselves.

All Battle Masteries
Battle Masteries, as their name might suggest, can be used in combat just like any regular old skill. Many of these Masteries can be acquired once you’ve unlocked all of your companions’ skills, while others are found in NPC inventories or in Blue Chests. Here are all the Battle Masteries in Octopath Traveler 0, sorted by the damage type.
