How to complete Forgotten Relics in Windrose

Naval combat in Windrose.

The Forgotten Relics mission is a hard quest to complete in Windrose, and it will bring you one step closer to reaching the end of the current early access build. It’s set in the Ancient Swamps biome and features a boss fight.

Let’s find out how to complete all the steps of the quest.

Windrose Forgotten Relics quest walkthrough

The Forgotten Relics quest can be broken down into the following parts.

  1. Speak with John Doe at the camp.
  2. Find and search the priestess’ chambers and return to John.
  3. Get Senkamati tablets and give them to John.
  4. Ask John about the translation results.
  5. Search and inspect the ritual site.
  6. Find the priestess’ resting place and recover Charon’s Obol.

Speak with John Doe at the camp

Once you rescue John, you can find him as a guest at your home base. Speak with him to know more about the power of Charon’s Obols. He will task you with locating all variants of this precious artifact.

Find and search the priestess’ chambers and return to John

Next, head to the objective marker in Ancient Swamps, and you’ll come across a ruin. There will be several hostiles to take down before you can retrieve the Clay Tablet by interacting with it. Head back to John with the item in your inventory.

John will inform you that the tablet contains incomplete information, and you’ll be tasked to find Senkamati clay tablets.

Get Senkamati tablets and give them to John

Next, you’ll need to follow the quest markers to recover four Senkamati clay tablets. The four tablets will be located in separate ruins, and their exact locations will be random (differ across saves). High-level enemies will guard all four areas, so you’ll need to be quite careful.

Some of the clay tablets could be located in the Tainted Forest. When you’re at this location, you’ll increase the Tainted meter. If the meter fills up completely, you’ll immediately die. If a tablet is at this location, you aim to recover it and escape as quickly as possible.

Once you return them to John, he will interpret the information and inform you that there wasn’t anything much apart from a couple of recipes. Your next task will be to find three murals and inspect them.

Inspect the Ritual Site

Following the marker will lead you to a Ritual Site. You’ll find the site in Ancient Ruins, surrounded by enemies. Head inside, and you’ll find an Altar. Examine it, and you’ll learn more about the statue and also recover an Enchanted Ritual Dagger.

Find the Priestess’ resting place and recover Charon’s Obol

The final task involves heading to the resting place of the Priestess. Interact with the Cursed plant to use the Enchanted Ritual Dagger, and this will trigger the High Priestess boss fight. This is the third main boss fight; she’s relatively easy to take down, thanks to her slow movement.

Defeating the High Priestess will get you the second Charon’s Obol, but the quest will likely finish only when we get a major update during the early access window.

What to expect from Saros

Saros is a PS5 exclusive that puts you in the shoes of Arjun Devraj. As a Soltari enforcer, you’re tasked with investigating Carcosa. At its heart, the game is a rogue-lite experience, where failure will happen. However, you will still gain something from one run that you can carry to the next one.

Every run will feature dangerous enemies and bosses to take down. To help your cause, you’ll be able to customize your loadout and improve your weapons across your runs. You’ll also gain different resources that will help you to do that. Finally, you can always make use of your Second Chance mechanic (needs to be unlocked), which works as a reset switch if something goes terribly wrong.

While things look and sound pretty exciting, Saros will only be available to PS5 players for the time being. There’s always a chance for it to arrive later on PC, but that seems quite unlikely as of writing.
