The Sinking City 2 is now available on PC and consoles, and you can tweak the in-game settings to get better performance on your setup. For large parts, the game works pretty well on my end, but I did encounter lags and stutters until I made a few changes.

In this guide, I will go through a list of settings you can use to run The Sinking City 2 smoothly on your device.

Before I dive deep into the graphics, here’s a quick run down of my current setup.

• AMD Radeon 9060XT 16 GB
• AMD Ryzen 7 5700X
• 32 GB of DDR4 RAM

In this guide, I have focused more towards devices that are closer to the minimum requirements. If you have a more powerful rig, you can scale up certain values by one.

• Screen: Personal preference
• Upscaling: None. However, turn this on if you’re struggling with rags.
• Resolution Quality: 100%.
• V-Sync: Off. However, turn this on if you’re getting stutters. Having it turned on will reduce the FPS by certain extent but increase the smoothness of the game.
• FPS Limit: 60 FPS. This seems like the sweet spot for now and it doesn’t cause any hindrance.
• Motion Blur: Off
• Graphics Preset: Custom
• View Distance: Medium
• Anti-Aliasing: Low
• Post-Processing: Medium
• Textures: Low
• Effects: Medium
• Foliage: Low
• Reflections: Low
• Global Illumination: Low
• Shading: Low
• Hair: High

I noticed the most significant change after I capped the FPS, so I assume that’s a problem in the current build. When writing, The Sinking City 2 is still awaiting the full launch. I expect some issues to resolve as we get few post-launch patches.
