Best Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 mods

Key art of a stylized battle where the player character attacks a monster.

Expedition 33 is already one of the greatest games ever made, with Metacritic’s user score even daring claim it’s the actual greatest game ever made. Usually, great games allow players to further customize the experience, and many sure have. Here are the best mods for your future expeditions.

Moving Fast Esquie

Final Fantasy VIII is one of the greatest inspirations behind Expedition 33, and it featured an infamously slow ship as a means to explore its world. Esquie, our “flying ship” in Expedition 33 isn’t as slow, but one of the things we’ve learned about JRPGS is how enhancing movement speed in exploration can seriously improve your experience, especially when you’re not playing the game for the first time, so the moving fast Esquie mod that allows you to have Esquie move at two, three, or five times his normal speed will certainly provide a great quality of life improvement.

Damage Cap Mod

Final Fantasy X was the first game in the series to introduce the ability to surpass 9,999 damage points with regular skills, but it still capped out at 99,999. Players spend the first two acts of Expedition 33 with a classic 9,999 damage cap on their abilities, but then that cap is removed, as long as you get and learn the Painted Power Pictos.

This, combined with the Internet’s insatiable lust for big numbers, quickly resulted in players dealing literal billions of damage that underwhelmed the challenges of even the game’s optional top bosses. Players who are interested in feeling ultra powerful, but in a way that’ll also let them enjoy a fair level of challenge from the game’s ultimate foes, can get the Damage Cap Mod to add a cap of 99,999, or 999,999 to their attacks.

Enhanced Descriptions

When looking for problems in Expedition 33, one must sometimes grasp at straws, but there’s nothing wrong with that. One of the few complaints players have with the game stems from the sometimes too confusing nature of the skill menu, which some feel doesn’t convey all the information it should, or doesn’t display it in the best possible way. Enhanced Descriptions is a very simple mod that overhauls the user interface of Pictos, weapons, and skills to offer more detailed information in a more easily digestible manner.

Easier or harder Dodge and Parry

Dodging and Parrying are the main sources of fun and adrenaline in Expedition 33. Once you’ve beaten the game, you might not feel like the extra HP and damage from enemies on NG+ are enough to make the game fun, so one hell of a way to make it more challenging and fun is to get Easier or Harder Dodge and Parry, a mod that’ll allow players to test their reaction times like never before in their expedition.

On the flipside, having to dodge and parry your opponent’s attacks is also a possible source of frustration for people coming from Final Fantasy games, so this mod also includes options to make dodging and parrying easier, much easier, or so ridiculously easy that players will barely even have to worry about it.

ClairObscurfix (multifix)

Expedition 33 is a beautiful game, but, despite its technical and artistic prowess, it still suffers from a few issues, such as a 30 FPS cap in its cutscenes. That’s no good, so ClairObscurfix removes that cap so that the flow of the game’s cutscenes doesn’t clash with that of your super smooth gameplay. This mod also fixes issues with forced sharpening, does away with that ugly subtitle background blur, skips the logos that play before you see the game’s start menu, and enhances the game’s ultrawide screen mode. This mod is a cocktail of only great stuff.

Minimap

Expedition 33 drew heavily on the Souls series for its level design. That’s great, but it might, however, rub some the wrong way. Many players get into E33 expecting more of a Final Fantasy-like navigation through games’ dungeons, but its lack of a minimap might make navigating the more challenging level layout too complex to be fun.

The minimap mod works exactly as you’d imagine: it adds a small map to the corner of your screen for all the game’s dungeons, complete with all information regarding all possible points of interest. This allows players to focus more on combat and makes exploration a total breeze.

Blueprint in Arknights Endfield

Blueprints form the backbone of your AIC factories in Arknights Endfield, and you’ll be able to create plenty on your adventures. However, you can also take advantage of community creations by importing and using their designs.

In simple words, Blueprints refer to production chain designs that can be used at your AIC base. It includes every detail of a production chain and prevents you from having to recreate everything from scratch.

Best factory Blueprint codes in Arknights Endfield

Thanks to the social media community, we already have a fair number of codes popping up on social media. Personally, I have loved using them, and will add more codes in the days to come. You can not only use these designs, but you can also tweak them to add your personal touch as required.

Most of these codes are working EU/NA. However, the codes with user names in brackets are meant for the SEA servers.

Creating your own Blueprint might be fun, but you can also use designs created by other Arknights Endfield players. This will allow you to harness the advantages of an efficient base design that might not have popped up in your brain.

  • To import Blueprints, you’re going to need codes. Every Blueprint has a unique alphanumeric string like the ones posted in the next section. First, copy the code from outside the game.
  • Go to your Core AIC (or Outposts).
  • Enter Top View by pressing Q/R3 (if you’re using a controller).
  • Press F1 to open the Blueprint menu.
  • Switch to the Shared Blueprints tab, which will allow you to paste the copied code.

You can also visit another player’s base in Arknights Endfield, and directly copy a Blueprint (it automatically copies the applicable alphanumeric string).
