The Beacon god rolls and how to get them in Destiny 2

The Beacon fusion rifle, shown in promotional art for Destiny 2's Guardian Games 2026.

Fusion Rifles may not be among the most exciting guns in Destiny 2‘s arsenal, but a god-rolled The Beacon might just find its way to your vault.

This Guardian Games weapon is the first non-raid Solar fusion rifle under the tier system, so those using fiery builds can get a little more choice in that slot. The Beacon does have access to a subclass verb, but our god roll opts for something with more damage. At least it matches the Surge mod on whatever Solar heavy you may be using.

Here are our god rolls for The Beacon in Destiny 2.

The Beacon PvE god rolls in Destiny 2

  • Barrel: Arrowhead Brake, Corkscrew Rifling, or Fluted Barrel
  • Mag: Enhanced Battery or Liquid Coils
  • First perk: Envious Arsenal, Overflow, or Rewind Rounds
  • Second perk: Bait and Switch, Controlled Burst, or Reservoir Burst.

There’s not much need to chase less-used perks: The Beacon’s god roll boasts the best-in-slot options for fusion rifles.

The first column has three heavy hitters: Envious Arsenal, Overflow, and Rewind Rounds. Any of the three is welcome, and each has differences that change slightly what you’d like to use them for—though we lean strongly toward one of them.

Our pick for a god roll, by far, is Envious Arsenal. This perk reloads your gun by dealing damage with all three of your weapons, which is a condition for a certain ubiquitous damage-boosting perk. That said, the other two have room to shine.

Overflow triggers when picking up ammo, so it’s a bit spotty to count on it for longer damage phases, but it’s excellent for a general-use gun to fit into Grandmaster Nightfall Alerts or moments when you can’t set up Envious Arsenal. Rewind Rounds triggers after emptying the magazine, so it’s effortless.

You have some other options here for specific setups, like Demolitionist and Collective Pugilism if your build could use some extra ability regen or Lead From Gold for some more utility, though we’d stick with any of the top three choices.

For the fourth column, Bait and Switch is the strongest damage perk at The Beacon’s disposal, and that’s why it has carved the top spot in our god roll. It activates by dealing damage with all your weapons during a small time window, which is the same trigger as Envious Arsenal.

If you’d rather not set up Bait and Switch, however, Controlled Burst and Reservoir Burst are both top-tier choices for fusion rifles, with less setup involved. The former bumps your damage if you land all the pellets in a burst, while with the latter, the top shot of your magazine has bonus damage and explodes on impact. With Overflow, every shot above your base mag size gets the bonus from Reservoir Burst, creating a powerful combination if you’d like some added clear and damage.

Outside of that, you have Burning Ambition, which could be alright if you have a way to apply Scorch to consistently get ignitions, and Successful Warm-Up if you’re focused on add-clear. It’s hard to find a setting for them to be better than the other picks, though.

How to get The Beacon in Destiny 2

The Beacon can drop when turning in Medallions, ranking at the Tower, and completing Guardian Games activities like Rushdown and Supremacy. Some Portal activities only offer you extra event engrams if you tackle them on the highest difficulty, however.

Once you scratch the Final Chance, accept the death, and move on to the next catalog. The more prestige bonuses you have, the quicker you’ll be able to go through the cheaper cards of any catalog.

While costlier tickets will tend to have better luck, there’s a cap applicable to all of them. Once you hit that cap, there won’t be any incremental effects for the extra luck that you might have.
