When does The Royal Highlands expansion update release for Palia?
The Royal Highlands expansion for Palia is confirmed to launch on May 12. With this free update, the largest adventure zone that’s been added yet will become unlocked, bringing with it plenty of new features to dive into.
All Palia The Royal Highlands expansion features
As the name of the update hints, The Royal Highlands expansion is built around a new explorable area called The Royal Highlands in Palia. This vast new region is bringing lots of fresh content with it, so here’s a full breakdown of all the features that have been revealed for it.
New explorable area
A stunning, vast new adventure zone called The Royal Highlands unlocks with this update. It’s the biggest region yet, offering plenty of space to explore. Getting around this massive area might be tiring, so it’s also bringing a new way to get around.
Mounts
Horses are debuting with this update, allowing players to mount up and set out to explore much faster than ever before. Although their main purpose is to be helpful for traversal, horses are also designed to help you stop and take in the sights and sounds as you explore. You can raise and breed your very own horse using the ranching skill, shaping their overall traits and performance abilities as you progress.
New materials and resources
As you explore, you’ll come across loads of new materials and resources to collect. This includes an array of minerals, fish, insects, creatures, and so much more. You’ll also come across a mysterious material called Amber Echo, which impacts the environment in unique ways, trapping anything it touches to freeze it in time for years or even longer.
New villager
In The Royal Highlands, a fresh face is waiting to meet you. A new romanceable villager by the name of Eshelon can be found in this area. He’s the heir to the Bahari Dukedom, Eshe’s and Kenli’s nephew, and the cousin of Kenyatta. You’ll have to work with him to uncover a strange mystery involving mysterious Amber Echo that’s spreading throughout the highlands.
Other additions
Outside of all the main features, there are lots of smaller additions worth getting excited about, too.
- The Ancient Human Home Line introduces a more refined architectural look for your home plot that’s inspired by The Royal Highlands. There’s also a new third-story upgrade, expanded storage, and fresh decoration sets to go with it.
- The clothing dye and tint system is getting a big upgrade. This upgrade will allow players to apply unlocked colors to outfits, either as small, subtle details or as complete color overhauls.
- The Lunar Path: Path of the Pony event begins with this update, offering a new collection of optional unlockable rewards.
There’s plenty to get done while you wait for The Royal Highlands update to arrive. If you’re not sure what to do, consider tackling the Do Not Go Gentle quest, finding and catching a Kilima Grayling, or hunting for the various Eggs hidden around the world, including Red Eggs, Yellow Eggs, Green Eggs, and Blue Eggs.
