Nagoshi Studio removes entire YouTube channel and Gang of Dragon trailers following funding woes

Gang of Dragon fighting scene.

As NetEase pulled funding for Toshihiro Nagoshi’s Gang of Dragon, the game faced an uncertain future, with the studio having to come up with a new financial source to keep developing it. By May, all funding was supposed to go away, and it seems Nagoshi Studio failed to score a new deal and has since removed its entire YouTube channel and all related videos.

As spotted by users on the Yakuza subreddit, Nagoshi Studio seems to have completely wiped its YouTube channel with no warning, taking with it all content related to that developer and, of course, Gang of Dragon. Searching on YouTube, the only “official” way to watch the game’s trailer is via The Game Awards’ account, while Nagoshi Studio appears altogether gone from the platform.

This comes after NetEase reportedly pulled funding from Nagoshi Studio, forcing lead Toshihiro Nagoshi to search for new backers to keep his Yakuza successor afloat. It was reported that if funding isn’t secured by May, the project will most likely be canceled, and as we close in on the fifth month of this year, it seems Nagoshi failed to secure a new deal to continue making the game.

Importantly, NetEase also asked Nagoshi not only to secure new backing but also to get enough money to buy the game and its assets from the publisher, essentially requiring an incredible amount of funding for the game to be allowed to continue its production. It’s thus unsurprising if Nagoshi failed in his mission, though no official comments have been issued from either Nagoshi Studio or NetEase at the time of writing.

Gang of Dragon was meant to be a spiritual successor to Toshihiro Nagoshi’s Yakuza series and was set to star Korean star Don Lee.

There’s a host of different stats in Vampire Crawlers that will define your chances of completing a specific stage. If you’ve played Vampire Survivors, you’ll be well familiar with most of these stats. If not, then you can refer to the following section to understand what each attribute means.

Typically, the Power Ups you use will have a direct impact on the stat values of your current run. When you upgrade a Power Up, it will permanently raise the applicable stat for your character (the buffs will be available across all runs). However, your attributes will also depend on the cards you draw and the crawler(s) you use.
