Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 devs host Reddit Q&A that turns bloodier than the red wedding

Warhorse Studios, the developers behind the Kingdom Come series, thought it wise to give Redditors a chance to inquire them on any topic shortly after laying off a Czech translator in favor of AI. Reddit showed up not to ask but to teach a shade-powered lesson about humanity.

My second favorite thing about Reddit is the AMA (Ask Me Anything). My very favorite thing about Reddit is an AMA gone bad, especially when Reddit users come together to enact justice against misguided AMA hosts via incredibly cheeky questions, and we sure are getting that, with people asking the Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 developers things such as:

“Why are you pro generative-AI despite its obvious negative impact on people working in the creative industries, including gaming?”

“I always dreamt of working as a translator for warhorse studios, do you think I have a chance?”

“Why need creative directors, why not replace them with AI as you did with your translators.”

There’s even this one question, seemingly attempting to understand the developer’s decision.

“…What are your experiences/expectations about the quality with such translations? I assume such a decision wasn’t done lightly and not without proper research.”

A common sentiment comes in a more acidic version of, “How could they be dumb enough to host an AMA after choosing AI over people?”

“I don’t know whose brilliant idea it was to do a Warhorse AMA on one of the most AI critical subs on Reddit shortly after Warhorse was in the news for firing a human in favour of AI, but I bet that person with wish they had swallowed a bottle of Saviour’s Schnapps after this AMA derails so they could reload.”

And sure, they have only, as far as we know, laid off one translator under these circumstances, but that’s the kind of problem that’ll only grow bigger if unopposed right away.

And on that note, other even cheekier Redditors began wondering about Warhorse’s next Bond Villain-esque move.

“Are you guys making an open world LOTR game with Saudi money?”

And,

“Lmao people here get downvoted for asking legitimate questions instead of hating”

Which, I gotta admit, I kinda love. Lastly, there’s:

“Is your gemini premium subscription gonna translate your next game since you fired the guy that did the English translation”

Currently at 190 upvotes, that’s the highest-rated question, but don’t let that discourage you from trying to come up with something even, let’s say, more inquisitive. Yes, you can still ask your questions on their Reddit AMA page, which Warhorse Studios will kindly reply to on April 30, unless the studio is forced to cancel the event due to some completely unexpected and definitely unrelated turn of events.

Pilgrim's Peak tower in ARC Raiders

The Crash Mat is a unique consumable that has been added to ARC Raiders as part of the Riven Tides update, and having the blueprint will allow you to craft the item. At its core, the Crash Mat nullifies a massive amount of fall damage if you manage to land on it by any means.

But first, let’s find out a few potential locations for the blueprint.

ARC Raiders Crash Mat blueprint location

Like every other blueprint, there’s no fixed location to find the Crash Mat. It will boil down to your luck. The item’s blueprint can spawn on any map condition. I have stuck to the Riven Tides map since the update, and it’s where I also found the blueprint.

I found mine in a random container at the beach near Hotel Panorama Azzurro. It was an ordinary container, and I had spawned in the map quite early. If you’re unlucky, you can try looking into the rooms of the hotel itself. It’s a great spot to find trinkets, which also includes the miniature ships.

You can also use the Dockmaster’s Detector during the Beachcombing minor map condition to find containers that would otherwise remain hidden. These containers can also contain the blueprint. However, the Beachcombing condition isn’t mandatory to find the blueprint; it just theoretically raises the odds of your success.

How to craft the Crash Mat in ARC Raiders

Once you have the blueprint, you can start crafting the Crash Mat with the following resources.

  • One Electrical Components: You can craft it with raw materials or find it as random loot.
  • One Durable Cloth: You can craft it from the basic cloth.

To craft the Crash Mat, you’ll also need a Tier 2 Utility Workbench. To use the item, you have to aim it at the ground. Once thrown, it will create an airbag on the ground. When you fall on the item, it will absorb all the fall damage. When used strategically, it will allow you to get out of tight situations.
