My Winter Car has plenty of ways to freeze your vehicle when you leave it overnight, but the Block Heater will help to keep it ready for you to use.
Having a frozen vehicle isn’t fun, especially if you have a job to attend or errand to run. Thankfully, the Block Heater prevents that from happening, but only when you know how to use it properly.

How to find the Block Heater in My Winter Car
Unlike the in-built car heater, the Block Heater is located on the outside of the vehicle. You have to use a wire to connect it to a power source. The wire leading from the front of the car in the following image is what you’ll expect to find.
You’ll find a power source at almost all important POIs, like your house. Park your car close to the power source so that you can connect the cable. Here’s how to use it properly once you have connected the wire to a power source.
How to use the Block Heater in My Winter Car
Park close to the power source and connect the wire. While the main heater inside your car requires the engine to remain on, the Block Heater doesn’t. The external source powers it so that you can turn off the engine.
As you sleep in your house overnight, the Block Heater will keep your car warm. However, you’ll still notice snow on the glasses (you can scrape that off easily by turning on the main heater when you’re driving the car). Disconnect the Block Heater by removing the wire (otherwise, your car won’t move from the parked spot).
The only remaining task for you is to turn on the ignition. If the Block Heater worked normally, the engine would begin immediately.
When should you use the Block Heater in My Winter Car
You should use the Block Heater whenever you’re parking your car for an extended period. This can be for when you sleep at night, or if you’re at the Futufon Office, working your main job. The winter conditions of the map will always make your car prone to getting a frozen engine. If you’re parking it for a short period of time, it’s unnecessary to use the Block Heater.

My Winter Car is steadily attracting new players in the holiday season, and we already have a fair amount of mods to try out.
Available via NexusMods, the mods will allow you to go beyond the base vanilla experience. Some of them are mere add-ons and enhancements of features that are already live inside the game. Others might be a bit more towards the ‘cheating’ side of things, or you can use them to ease your gameplay experience.
This guide will give you a brief overview of what I consider the best mods in the current build of My Winter Car and what you can expect from them.
Best mods to use in My Winter Car
Before we can deep dive into the collection, you’re going to need a NexusMods account. Thankfully, it can be opened for free, and all the mods you see here won’t cost you any money.
- FL2S BOX: This is practically the most broken mod you can currently get from NexusMods. This mod activates the God Mode and allows you to do whatever you want. You can have infinite stats, teleports wherever you want, and even toggle off the permadeath feature. Honestly, this mod should be used if you only care about finishing the game as quickly as possible.
- MWC Cheatbox: Very similar to the FL2S BOX, but offers fewer advantages. Interestingly, this mod allows you to skip jail if you want, while also having item spawn and infinite money.
- MWC Advanced Steering: Steering on the frozen lands isn’t the easiest of tasks, which can be done better with the help of this mod. Once enabled, you can use precise mouse steering while driving your cars.
- My Winter Backpack: This is one of my favorite mods since it adds a backpack that acts as your inventory. It’s an innovative solution that allows you to min-max what you want to do without making the game feel broken.
- SAW – Save AnyWhere: Instead of having to pee and save the game, you can use this mod to add an instasave button.
These are my favorite mods that you can use in My Winter Car. The collection of available choices should increase in the days to come. All mods have to be installed carefully.
How to install mods in My Winter Car
The first task is to follow the specific information that you’ll find for a mod. Once done, download the mod files. Extract it to the main My Winter Car folder (where the game is installed). Run the game, and the mods should run automatically.
