How to tame and get Gigadesmodus in ARK Survival Ascended

Gigadesmodus in ARK Survival Ascended

The Gigadesmodus is a grim-looking bat-like creature added to ARK Survival Ascended via the Lost Colony DLC, and getting it can be a challenging task.

Unlike creatures like the Aureliax, I haven’t encountered one of these creatures in the wild until the boss fight. The key to obtaining one is also locked behind the Alpha Lost King boss fight, which itself is a considerable challenge.

This guide will quickly explain how you can get your own flying tower in ARK Survival Ascended‘s latest DLC.

How to get the Gigadesmodus in ARK Survival Ascended

Ironically, the easiest way to get the Gigadesmodus is from its egg. To do so, you’ll need to complete the final boss fight where you take down the Alpha Lost King. If you don’t mind taking a shortcut, the creative mode lets you do so.

This fight involves decrypting the lock and exploring the Lost King’s palace to find the Codex. There are multiple tasks to complete and a massive wave of brutal enemies to find. You’ll also have to complete side objectives in the fight, like finding lock codes, taking down Guardians, and more, to proceed.

The final task will be to defeat the Guardians to open the main door that leads you to the boss fight. In the battle, you’ll need to defeat both the Boss King and the Boss Queen. Once done, you’ll get the egg sac and all the extra items required to tame it.

If you’re unwilling to go the Creative Mode route, this fight will take plenty of time to unlock and complete. It’s the supposed final quest of the new storyline, and this is the only known method of getting this creature.

How to tame and use the Gigadesmodus in ARK Survival Ascended

Once you have the egg sac, you’ll have to let the incubation period complete at your base. Alternatively, you can use a console command to quicken up the progress (not my favorite way). You’ll get the Gigadesmodus once the incubation period is complete.

To use the Gigadesmodus as a ride, you’ll either have to craft the Gigadesmodus Saddle or the Gigadesmodus Platform Saddle. You’ll get the two blueprints by defeating the Alpha Lost King. You can craft them at the Tek Replicator.

Between the two, the normal Saddle also allows the Gigadesmodus to glide. This creature grows into a massive size and can do plenty of damage with its attacks, and its huge pool of health lets the Gigadesmodus tank plenty of incoming damage. While it can fly, the giant bat isn’t the swiftest when it comes to general movement.

FC 26 Winter Wildcards Team 2 release countdown

Team 2 will release globally on Thursday, Dec. 25. For a whole day, you’ll be able to find both Team 1 and Team 2 cards in packs. The following countdown will expire once the new team goes live.

The countdown is based on the following timings.

  • 10am PT
  • 12pm CT
  • 1pm ET

This is the same schedule that EA Sports typically follows for all promos. It will be interesting to find out how many of these leaks finally make it to the packs. If the leaks turn out to be true, the non-baby version of Zico and Miyama will be high on the wishlist of many players.
