How to solve ARC Raiders Secret Button puzzle and get the Guitar

ARC Raiders‘ Cold Snap update has quietly added a Secret Button puzzle for players to decode, and cracking it successfully will lead you to the legendary Guitar item on a raid.

There are 15 secret red buttons spread all around the Buried City map. Things would have been pretty easy if all we had to do was to press all the buttons on a single raid—but the task is far more complex than that.

Before I dive into the solution, it’s worth thanking ARC Raiders Puzzle Discord for figuring out the details. This is by far the most complex puzzle that I have ever encountered in the game. To complete the puzzle, you’ll have to press the secret red buttons, which are spread all over Buried City.

Here’s the catch: you’ll have to press the buttons in a pre-determined order. Each has a corresponding musical note.

If someone breaks the sequence by pressing the wrong button, you’ll have to start the entire process from scratch on a fresh raid. Pressing any wrong button, even once, will break the sequence, and you won’t be able to gain access to the legendary Guitar.

If you observe the screenshot above, you’ll get the exact order of how you should press the buttons. We begin from the button marked as “1” and work all the way to “15”.

Here’s a quick note on how to locate the secret buttons at each location. They’re not that hard to find once you’re at the correct locations.

Button 1

The first button is at Plaza Rosa. Take the stairs and go up. Turn right, head straight, and there will be a kitchen cabinet to your right, with the button next to it.

Button 2

The second button is inside the Galleria. Approach from the roof hatch, go down using the zipline. Turn left twice, and the button will be to your left.

Button 3

The third button is all the way to the west in the Warehouse. It’s located on the roof, between two structures.

Button 4

The fourth button is in the middle of Marano Park. It’s inside a small room in the park at the marked location.

Button 5

The fifth button is slightly harder to find. Head to the Grandioso Apartments and take the zipline from the bottom. Go all the way to the top, turn left, and head straight to the balcony. Go a few yards straight from there, and you’ll find a room with a glass wall. Head inside to find the button by the sofa.

Button 6

The sixth button is by a ledge of a cyan-colored house at the Piazza Arbusto location. Look for the ledge on the second floor of the building (outside, and not inside).

Button 7

The seventh button is inside a bus near the Library building.

Button 8

The eighth button can be on a house near the Corso da Vinci. Enter the marked building from the left (red-colored) using the broken wall. Go inside, turn left, head straight, and turn left. The button will be on the floor of this room.

Button 9

Button 9 is in the Buried Properties, by the Raider Den depot. You’ll find a dilapidated house, and the button will be hidden beside a generator.

Button 10

To find the tenth button, enter the Hospital from the front and turn left. You’ll find a set of stairs; the button is beneath them.

Button 11

The eleventh button is under the Abandoned Highway. Keep following the Abandoned Highway till the bridge snaps in two. Drop down to a house’s roof on the left, and again turn left (on the roof itself). Just take a few steps forward, and the button will be to your left.

Button 12

The twelfth one is in the Church Ruins. It’s on the roof of the western edge of the building.

Button 13

To find button 13, get to the Santa Maria houses. Take the stairs to the top, and you’ll find a zipline on the top floor to reach the attic.

Button 14

The fourteenth button is located in a small tower at the marked location “14” on map the screenshot above.

Button 15

The final one is in the Red Tower. You’ll find the door on the ground floor. Enter through one of the broken doors and press the button to complete the sequence.

If done correctly, a tune will play, followed by the locked door opening to reveal the Guitar and a host of other items.

The Locked Gate arrived in ARC Raiders as part of The North Line update, and completing it will require a fair amount of coordination. You can run across it randomly during the Cold Snap update, but the conditions remain the same.

Like all map conditions, the Locked Gate isn’t available at all times. You’ll have to be lucky to find it on a map rotation. This guide will help you to complete the event successfully if you manage to start a raid while it’s available.

ARC Raiders Locked Gate event walkthrough

The Locked Gate event takes place on the Blue Gate map, but adds a custom modifier. The modifier restricts you from using any Raider Hatches and also blocks entry to the underground tunnels. All of this is part of an emergency shutdown protocol. Your job will be to find relevant security codes to open a locked gate (hence, the name).

To begin the quest, head to the Gate Control Room inside the Warehouse Complex. I have marked its location on the screenshot below, but it’s hard to miss. The Warehouse Complex is located between the central and the northern part of the Blue Gate map.

Head inside the room, and you’ll find four systems. When you try to interact with them, you’ll be asked for security codes. Finding the security codes is easy, as they will have a POI in their respective names.

If you’re trying to find the Pilgrim’s Peak code, you’ll have to head over to the location. All four POIs will be present on the Blue Gate map, but finding them can take a fair amount of time (not to mention the added dangers of ARC enemies and enemy Raiders).

Checkpoint Gate location

Once you have found all four codes, head back to the Gate Control Room. Use the four codes to unlock the central gate in the Checkpoint POI (marked on the screenshot above). You’ll find an unlocked gate, along with plenty of valuable items to loot inside. However, be highly cautious as enemy Raiders could try to ambush you for a free lot.
