Crimson Desert‘s Abyss is a mystical, elevated plane of existence that lies above the corporeal reality below. Though in the heavens, it is invisible to the naked eye, and only those gifted with its touch can ever reach it.
A lot of what you do in the Abyss is mandatory, but the game is also filled with optional Abyss puzzles and quests that let you unlock new fast travel spots and even abilities and skills. The place is usually accessed through various Spires, and the Spire of Insight is an especially puzzling one.
So if you are an avid explorer and came across this impressive building, here’s how you can open it and solve the puzzles inside.
How to open and solve the Spire of Insight
The first time you come across the Spire of Insight, you will notice that it is absolutely covered in thick, thorny roots that block any and all access to it. To clear them, all you need to do is fire up your Blinding Light ability and focus the light onto the brambles, burning them to ash.
Once the roots are gone, you will then be given your first puzzle: unlocking the Spire’s door. To do it, pick up one of the pebbles lying on the ground and place it in the bowl sticking out from the door. Doing so will open them and grant you access to the library within.
There are three levels you need to climb to reach the Abyss gate at the top, and each of them requires you to place items in the bowls. The necessary items are drawn on the massive book in front of the bowls, and if you don’t want to go out looking for them yourself, here’s what you need to do for each level.
– Solution beyond this point –
The first bowl asks you to place a gravestone in it. You can find it immediately to the right of the bowl and book, on a desk beneath the bookshelves.
The second bowl requires a telescope and an ink and quill. Both are located behind you, the first being left on a desk and the other being to the right, through a door in the wall leading into a study. The ink and quill are on the study desk beneath the window.
The third bowl asks you for a sundial, a celestial, and a small map rotator. The first and the last are found on the bookshelves, while the celestial sits on the floor between a couple of bookshelves to the right of the bowl. Next to the celestial, you’ll also find an alchemy recipe for gold bars, which are a fantastic source of income.
After the third bowl is filled up, the elevator will take you to the top, where an Abyss Gate grants you access to several connected Abyss puzzles and, therefore, several potential Abyss Artifacts that you need to level up and upgrade skills and abilities.
