Fortnite‘s Winterfest 2025 questline continues to add new missions for you to complete and earn XP, and one of the recent ones requires you to find the Whiplash Time Machine and drive it at a fixed speed.
The Whiplash Time Machine is part of a special collab between Epic Games and the Back to the Future movie franchise. It’s available at specific locations on the winter map, and discovering it is relatively easy. The more challenging aspect is the next part, as you’ll need to drive the vehicle at a fixed speed.

How to find the Whiplash Time Machine in Fortnite
The Whiplash Time Machine is located at six different spots on the map.
- Clawsy Lodge in the northern part of the map
- Painted Palms in the northeastern part of the map
- Sandry Strip in the eastern quarter of the map
- Sus Stuios in the south
- Battewood Boulevard in the south, beyond Sus Studios
- Humble Hills in the western part of the map
To complete the quest, you’ll need to find the vehicle at any of the locations mentioned above.
How to maintain the speed of 88mph in a Whiplash Time Machine
Once you find a garage, go inside. Start driving the car, and follow a straight road. To complete the quest, you’ll need to reach a top speed of 88mph. Driving on the straight path will be helpful, and avoid applying the brakes.
Once you hit the speed of 88mph, it will transform the look of the Whiplash Time Machine following a cutscene. The speedometer of the vehicle will change, and there will be a container on the roof. Stop the car, and you can then retrieve the loot from the container. This will also complete the quest and reward you with additional seasonal XP.
