How to lure animals in Hytale

No matter where you’re from or what you enjoy or who you are, we all have to eat.

The same can be said for survival video games like Hytale. If you don’t eat, your stamina and life will drain, and that means potential death and losing whatever items you have on you. And nothing tastes better than meat (sorry, vegetarians), so it’s time to lure animals to their death.

It’s not all meat, though, because animals drop other useful items like feathers, leather, and other crafting materials you’ll need. So, with this in mind, here’s how to lure animals to you in Hytale.

How to lure animals in Hytale

In Hytale, you can lure animals with a Feed Bag. To craft a Feed Bag, you first need the Farmer’s Workbench, which can be crafted at a Builder’s Workbench. Here are all of the necessary crafting recipes to get a Feed Bag.

Builder’s Workbench recipe

• Any Tree Trunk – 6
• Any Stone – 3

Farmer’s Workbench recipe

• Any Tree Trunk – 6
• Plant Fiber – 20

Feed Bag recipe

• Wheat – 10
• Any type of vegetable – 5
• Any type of fruit – 5
• Essence of Life – 10

  • This can be found in just about any part of the map. Destroying trees, animals, enemies, grass, and all sorts of natural flora and fauna will occasionally drop this green ball of crafting material.

Once you’ve crafted your Feed Bag, place it down in an open area, and watch from afar as different animals start to show up for some food. Just like lamb to the slaughter (are there lambs in Hytale?) like nature intended.

This item is useful for when you want to passively find animals to kill or to even bring into your newly-built farm area. All farms need animals, and the Feed Bag is perfect for bringing them to where you want them to be to enlist them into a life of servitude.

Lettuce method

If you grow or find Lettuce, you can also use it to lure certain animals that you want to try to domesticate. Try holding the Lettuce out in front of animals like pigs or cows and they will follow you for some time, while also occasionally getting distracted and stopping.

The Hi, Doggy quest not only has a funny name, but it’s a rather interesting task to complete in Quarantine Zone: The Last Check.

The Hi, Doggy is a relatively early game quest that you can unlock on day 10. It’s a core campaign quest, so there’s no way of skipping it (unless you’re playing in the Endless mode). This guide will help you figure out how to feed your zombie.

How to start Hi, Doggy quest in Quarantine Zone: The Last Check

The quest begins at the start of day 10 when the major briefs you about what needs to be done. When you’re in the early game, there’s not much you can do with a zombie in Quarantine. However, this quest will introduce you to the Cage in the Laboratory.

The Cage can contain an undead and allow you to study for research. You’ll find the Cage to the right of the main lab tent (from where you can discover new symptoms). Your next task is to feed the zombie. Head straight from the lab gates, and you’ll end up in front of the locked zombie.

How to feed the zombie in Hi, Doggy quest

This task is pretty simple. Go to the Liquidation zone, where you send the infected to be chopped. You’ll find a marked area by the pile of bags. Pick up a body bag, put it on the card, and go back to the laboratory tent. If you can’t pick up the body, chances are that the cart isn’t close enough. Interact with the cart and bring it closer to the body bags.

Park the cart next to the Cage, and interact with the body bag carrying the corpse. Pick it up, and put it in the Cage, and the zombie will start to eat. This will complete the Hi, Doggy quest. Make sure to put the cart in the highlighted zone so that the corpse can be fed to the zombie trapped inside.
