How to get more Mana in Vampire Crawlers

Gems in Vampire Crawlers

In Vampire Crawlers, mana determines how many cards you can play in a turn. Every card you play has a specified mana cost, and having more energy will allow you to create the amazing combos that will amplify your damage.

This guide will explore every possible way by which you can increase your mana.

All ways to get more mana in Vampire Crawlers

The easiest way to get more mana in the game is to look for the Tome cards. There are three different Tome cards, and all of them offer more mana when you play them. You can further boost the mana they create by using them in combos.

Tome cards are fairly common once you unlock them. For certain crawlers, they’re part of the default deck. For the rest, you’ll need to draft them separately during your run. They’re the best way to create extra mana without relying on your luck.

Occasionally, you’ll also come across treasure chests and hidden items on the maps. They will be completely random in terms of you encountering them (and also what you obtain). Sometimes, you might get a mana orb from one of them. I typically found them only when my Luck on the run was above 60% (bottom line: you need a high Luck stat).

When you find such mana orbs, they will automatically increase the max capacity for the remainder of your run.

You might also find food stall-type locations that offer you mana orbs. To get the boost, you’ll have to sacrifice a card from your deck. Once done, your mana will automatically increase for the remainder of your run.

Any extra mana you get via lucky drops or card sacrifice will be permanent. Any mana you get from playing Tome cards will be valid for that turn only. Unfortunately, mana can’t be upgraded like other Power Ups.

Additionally, you can also find the Refund gem. When applied on a card, the gem will refund its mana cost. If I put a Refund gem on a card that costs two mana, I will get that amount back when I play it. While you’ll still need the initial mana to play the card, it’s an effective way to manage the resource. It also allows you to create combos that won’t be possible otherwise.
