A lost princess is hidden away somewhere around your village, and finding her can be rather difficult since you must unlock a secret mission in Disney Dreamlight Valley. To unlock Pocahontas, you need to know how to find and start her quest.
While the vast majority of tasks are granted to you right away, some are a bit more hidden and require extra steps to unlock. Pocahontas’s quest is one such task, so getting her to your village can be pretty tricky. Here’s how to find and start the Pocahontas unlock quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

How to get Pocahontas unlock quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley
You can start Pocahontas’s unlock quest by visiting your mailbox once three key requirements have been met. Then, you need to find and recover some Glowing Algae to trigger the Whispers in the Wind mission. Completing this quest unlocks Pocahontas, so all these steps are tied together for finding her.
First off, you need to make sure you’ve checked off the three requirements for the full Pocahontas questline. These requirements ask you to unlock Moana, the Forest of Valor biome, and the Dazzle Beach region. You also need to unlock the Moana movie Realm, since you cannot get Moana without entering it.
Once the prerequisites are met, head to your mailbox and look for a message from Moana called “I’ve found something strange…” in which she mentions spotting some strange Glowing Algae along the beach. You must activate this quest from your mailbox, as it won’t start on its own.
Once you’ve read the letter, you can then head down to the beach to start hunting for Glowing Algae. The actual mission won’t pop up until you find it, but reading the letter is where it begins.
How to find Glowing Algae in Disney Dreamlight Valley
You can find the strange Glowing Algae that Moana mentions in her message in the Dazzle Beach biome. This item spawns randomly somewhere in the area for everyone and cannot appear in any other biome, so there’s only one area to search for it. Its exact location varies for all players, so there’s no way to know where it’ll be for you.
For me, the Glowing Algae spawned near the rocky wall where the entrance to the Mystical Cave is. You’re looking for a blue and red item that looks like seaweed and sparkles once you get close to it. You can try looking with Furniture mode if you’re having difficulty spotting it.
As soon as you pick up the Glowing Algae, the Whispers in the Wind quest will begin, which is the only mission you need to tackle to unlock Pocahontas. It’s a pretty long one with some tricky parts, but it’s only one quest, which makes her a bit easier to recruit now that you’ve got her mission activated.
