June 2026 State of Play recap
Marvel’s Wolverine – Extended gameplay trailer
As promised, Wolverine started off the show, featuring a whole lot of the Canadian mutant slicing and dicing all sorts of cyborg enemies. It features quite a bit of blood…like, a lot of blood, which is what you’d want from a Wolverine game. And he’s literally bathing in it.
And as expected, Wolverine is not the only mutant involved. He’s trying to rescue Leech and some others who’ve been kidnapped, and none other than fellow X-Men Jean Grey is also on the case. The action is intense, the graphics are great, and did I mention it’s bloody?
The combat looks similar to the third-person combat in Marvel’s Spider-Man, including finisher moves with button prompts appearing above enemy’s heads. Looks like he’s got a rage meter that builds up to pull off some epic combos, too.
MARVEL Tokon Fighting Souls – Knights of Doom trailer
Marvel’s upcoming PS5 console-exclusive fighting game got a new look ahead of its launch in August, including the confirmation of new characters joining Doctor Doom’s villainous team, Knights of Doom: Magneto, Green Goblin, and Carnage.

The Lost Wild – Reveal trailer
More dinosaurs! This Annapurna Interactive title is coming in 2027.

This stellar-looking action game has been in the works for a while now, and it’s finally launching in September…but not before a full deep dive State of Play dedicated to it this summer.

Until Dawn 2 – Announcement trailer
Yep. That just happened. Horizon: Call of the Mountain devs Firesprite are working on a sexy sequel to the classic horror game.
God of War: Laufey – Announcement trailer and gameplay
Sony Santa Monica is back with Kratos…and the leaks were real, because Faye, Kratos’s wife, is the lead in this one. Played by Deborah Ann Woll, Faye is a total badass, using aerial acrobatics and a sword in the 20-minute gameplay debut for the next game in the decades-old franchise.
Faye seems to be stuck in the “Afterlife of the Gods,” a place called Everywhen, and dealing with a cube (it’s voiced by The Boys’ Jack Quaid) and a talking sword as potential companions.
No release date was given, but it’s coming to PS5 when it does drop.
