How to find all Invasive Monsters in Monster Hunter Stories 3 and repel them

Flying on the Rathalos in Monster Hunter Stories 3

Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection has several Invasive Monsters to defeat, and doing so will help you get unique Endangered Eggs.

Invasive Monsters are special versions of ordinary monsties who have taken over different locations. As a result, the endangered creatures are threatened by the Invasive species. Your job is to get rid of these monsters and unlock Endangered Eggs by doing so.

How to repel all Invasive Monsties in Monster Hunter Stories 3

The first Invasive Monster is the easiest one to locate, as it’s part of the story. However, I have marked the three locations in Azuria where you’ll find the Invasive Monsters.

Invasive Monstie 1 – Yian Garuga

You encounter this creature during Act 1, Chapter 6, which introduces you to the concept of Endangered Species. This encounter can’t be skipped, but defeating the Yian Garuga is easy. You need to target its legs as much as possible to break them.

Once you defeat the Yian Garuga, you’ll unlock the Rathian, and the egg can be upgraded to a rarer variant.

Invasive Monstie 2 – Seregios

The second one is found on a cliff in the north of the map. You’ll need a flying monstie to reach the location at night. To defeat/repel Seregios easily, you’ll need a Hammer with the Perfect Crush Skill. Next, you have to take note of the colour of its roars and defeat it in Head-to-Head.

  • If the roar is red, use a Perfect Crush with Speed.
  • If the roar is blue, use a Perfect Crush with Technical.
  • If the roar is green, use a Perfect Crush with Power.

Repealing the Seregios will unlock the Astalos egg as a reward.

Invasive Monstie 3 – Plesioth

The Plesioth can be found near a cave located to the north of the Mirror Lake Catavan Stand. Use a monster that can swim up the channel and reach the spot marked in the image above. The best strategy is to attack the Plesioth with a Fire-element attack while targeting its head once it enters its Enraged state.

Repel the Plesioth, and you’ll get a Lagiacrus Egg. Next, we look at the two Invasive Monsters you’ll encounter in the Canalta Timberland location.

Invasive Monstie 4 – Arzuros

You don’t have to find the Arzuros since you can’t skip this encounter. Keep completing the main story, and you’ll eventually meet the Arzuros. To repel it, target its Honey Supply. The Arzuros uses its Honey Supply to summon Arzuros. Using a Speed-type monstie will also counter its strengths and make it easier for you to repel it.

You’ll be rewarded with teh Canyne Egg for your efforts.

Invasive Monstie 5 – Shogun Ceanataur

The Shogun Ceanataur is hidden behind a waterfall in the marked spot on the Canalta Timberland map image above. It has devastating Killer Claw attacks, so you’ll need high defense. Using monsters and allies that can trigger Defense Up will allow your party to tank the incoming attacks. Alternatively, you can also buff up your creature’s defense with Mega Armorskin. While the claws are sharp, they’re also brittle, and they can be broken quickly. The main test to withstand its incoming damage. Once you defeat the Shogun Ceanataur, you’ll unlock a Mizutsune egg.

Invasive Monstie 6 – Nerscylla

The final Invasive Monster can be found on the eastern edge of the map. Glide east from Camp: Blessing Hill, and you’ll find the Invasive’s territory (location marked in the Canalta Timberland image). To repel it easily, you’ll need a Gunlance with the Wyvern’s Fire skill. Conserve your energy for the skill, and wait for the Nerscylla to go invisible. Perform the Wyvern’s Fire skill as it’s about to land an attack, and you’ll be able to repel it.

Repealing the Nerscylla unlocks the Nargacuga egg for you to obtain.

Invasive Monstie 7 – Diablos

From the Lookout Point: Rococo Rocks Catavan Stand, get down to the ground floor towards the southeast direction. There will be an opening into a ravine that you have to follow. Then climb up the wall where the path ends, and you’ll meet the Diablos.

To repel the Diablos, you’ll need a Hammer with the Spinning Meteor skill. When the Diablos is in its Invasive state, it will go into the ground and spawn three holes on the ground. You have to select a hole and perform the Meteor strike just when the dust starts to come up from the hole. If you mistime the attack, the Diablos will appear from another hole and do damage. Do this successfully, and you’ll repel the monster to get the Tigrex egg.

Invasive Monstie 8 – Odogaron

Glide south from the Rococo Rocks Catavan Stand, and you’ll find a column with an updraft. Use the updraft to cross to the northwest, and you’ll find an opening in the rocks. Follow the path, climb up the wall, and you’ll meet the Odogaron.

You’ll need a monstie with a Mud move. You can use spam attacks like Mud Torrent to reduce its fire and break the claws. Repel the Odogaron, and you’ll get a Zinogre egg.

Invasive Monstie 9 – Khezu

From the center of the map, glide over the rocks and head northeast. Hop on these rocks, and you’ll eventually find the entrance. Wait for the Khezu to show ‘Learning Complete’. Once the screen shows that, land a Double Kinship attack, and it should be enough to repel it.

Once you repel the Khezu, you’ll unlock the Barioth.

An Elder Dragon in Monster Hunter Stories 3

Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection has a fair number of monstie mutations to collect, and you can start your grind pretty early in the game.

In fact, all four regions in the world of Monster Hunter Stories 3 have monster mutations to collect. They’re strongly related to the concept of Invasive Monsters (more on that later). This guide will help you figure out how to get every mutated endangered species unlocked on your adventure.

How to get all monstie mutation variants in Monster Hunter Stories 3
