How to complete Underground Network in Windrose

The Underground Network is a relatively easy quest you can unlock pretty early in Windrose. You’ll need to be at recommended player level three, and it can be cleared with your starter loadout. However, the quest has several tasks to complete, and let’s look at what needs to be done.

Windrose Underground Network quest walkthrough

The Underground Network quest can be broken down into the following parts.

• Ask around on Tortuga about the Smugglers
• Talk to Long Ben in the tavern
• Talk to Marita at the smuggler’s base (Smugglers Waters)
• Find Hale (Sail to location)
• Return to Marita
• Talk to Long Long Ben in the tavern
• Find and sink Marlowe’s ship

Ask around on Tortuga about the Smugglers

The first task is to sail to Tortuga and follow the quest marker. You’ll eventually reach a tavern that has several NPCs inside.

Talk to Long Ben in the tavern

First, speak with Long Ben. He will describe the recent events and brief you about the ongoing attacks. He will then instruct you to speak with one of the smugglers, since they have the responsibility of maintaining the stocks.

Talk to Marita at the smuggler’s base

Next, take your ship and reach the objective marker. You’ll speak with Marita at the smuggler’s base.

Find Hale

Your next task is to look for Hale, whose location is near the smuggler’s base. Here, you’ll encounter Blackbeard’s forces, and they will attack you if you get spotted. You have to look for an underground entrance hidden under leaves. Head down to the passage and defeat the beast guarding the room.

You’ll find out more about Hale (no spoilers) and what has happened with him. Loot the chest in the room, and return to your ship.

Return to Marita and talk to Long Ben

Marita will ask you to speak with Long Ben since he knew Hale, and there’s apparently a debt to be paid. When you tell Ben about what has happened with Hale, he will ask you to do justice to Marlowe, who has broken the code and sided with the authorities.

Find and sink Marlowe’s ship

Your next task is to intercept Marlowe’s ship (location will be marked on the map). Try to avoid engaging with Blackbeard’s ships that might be around the region. Look out for a ship named Bony Sue. It’s a level three vessel, and won’t take long to be taken down. It has a lot of HP but not much else. Once you take the ship down, speak with Long Ben. Inform him that you have taken care of Marlowe, and you’ll get the following rewards for your efforts.

• 50 Piastre
• Five Letter of Favor
• Two Brandy
• Two Madeira
• Two Whiskey

Aisha	Relic’s Insight	One of the very best skills to have if you can go past the first round. The skill reveals the outline based on the item’s rarity after each round. If you can enter Round 3, you’ll know how many White, Green, and Blue items are located in the lot. This is amazing information to have before you place your next bid.
Ivan	Arms Instinct	Weapons sell for higher prices, which will be highlighted by the skill. All Gear, Energy, and Transportation collectibles will also be highlighted, but I love this skill for finding out hidden weapons.
Isabella	Rare Valuation	She can immediately reveal the rarity of the highest-rarity collectible that you can find. This will immediately give you a good idea of how much profit you can possibly make from your purchase. Her skill also highlights outlines of four Gems and Minerals collectibles at random. Gems typically fetch good prices, so it’s a nice bit of information to have.
Raven	Endgame Insight	This collector is amazing if you can bid your way to the fifth round. The rarity of every collectible will be disclosed before you land in the final bid. Having that information will help you decide if you should put in a final bid or abstain from spending extra.
Victor	Value Insight	This skill will show the total number of Purple, Gold, and Red rarity collectibles. In short, you’ll have a precise idea of whether the purchase you’re about to make has anything of substantial value.
Ethan	Spatial Awareness	Ethan can reveal the outlines of five random collectible types. In the subsequent rounds, he will reveal the outlines of all known-rarity collectibles. If you reach the final round, he will reveal the outlines of every available collectible you can find.

While every collector has unique use-case scenarios for their skills, you’ll need to predict accurately. Overbidding too much can make you take a loss and erase your credits. Unfortunately, none of the collectors mentioned on the table above are available for free, but you can unlock them for free using the in-game goodies that you’ll get at launch.
