How to complete Ho! Ho! Ho! in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Holding a gift bag and standing in a winter market in disney dreamlight valley

Disney Dreamlight Valley’s annual Gift of Giving event has arrived, ushering in a fun festival season packed with activities you can tackle. One of the tougher ones you’ll encounter is the Ho! Ho! Ho! duty.

All you’re given to work with is the name of this task with no additional details to help you through it. The name is a slight clue, but not enough to help you actually get going on this one, so here’s how to complete Ho! Ho! Ho! in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

Ho! Ho! Ho! duty in Disney Dreamlight Valley

To complete the Ho! Ho! Ho! duty in DDV, you need to give 10 villagers gifts wrapped in Festive Wrapping Paper. There are a few key steps you need to get done in this process, including:

  • Finding Festive Wrapping Paper.
  • Crafting eligible gifts.
  • Finding 10 different villagers to give presents to.

This is one of the trickiest tasks to get done in the Gift of Giving event since it has quite a few complex parts to it. It’s certainly worth tackling to ensure you get to claim an exclusive prize, though, so here’s a full breakdown of everything you need to do to get it done.

How to get Festive Wrapping Paper in Disney Dreamlight Valley

The first step is to get your hands on some Festive Wrapping Paper, which can be found close to Scrooge McDuck’s shop wherever you have it placed in your main valley. It does not spawn near his store in DLC worlds, so make sure you’re only looking in Dreamlight Valley for it.

Between one and two Festive Wrapping Paper spawn every two hours, and a maximum of four can be present at any given time. If four Festive Wrapping Paper are present, the respawn timer won’t start until you pick at least one up. Because of this, it’s a good idea to check for it as often as you can while the event is running.

How to craft gifts in Disney Dreamlight Valley

There are four types of gifts you can craft with Festive Wrapping Paper. All four of these items can be given to villagers just like regular presents, but since they’re special, they’ll earn you both friendship points and progress in the Ho! Ho! Ho! event task.

Gift Crafting recipe Friendship points
Delicious Gift Festive Wrapping Paper
Hot Cocoa
Minnie’s Gingerbread Cookies
1,200
Shiny Gift Festive Wrapping Paper
Shiny Emerald
Shiny Ruby
1,700
Handcrafted Gift Festive Wrapping Paper
Holiday Feast Chair
500
Naughty Gift Festive Wrapping Paper
Coal Ore
300

Once you’re ready to give some gifts away, find any villager around the valley and select the “I have something to give you!” option next to the present icon. Then, repeat this process nine more times to give a total of 10 presents away.

You can make any type of gifts you want out of the four options, but you must give presents to 10 unique villagers. I recommend taking note of each character you give a gift to, as it’s easy to forget and end up giving the same character one twice. You can also use the Character tab under the Collection page to simply run down the list of villagers in order if you’re willing to give presents to any character.

Ho! Ho! Ho! duty reward in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Completing the Ho! Ho! Ho! duty by gifting villagers 10 wrapped presents gets you the Pile of Gifts furniture items as a reward. It’s a great item for decorating festive and event spaces, so be sure to work through this mission while you can.

If you miss out on completing Ho! Ho! Ho! this time around, you’ll have another shot next year. The Gift of Giving event is an annual occurrence, which means it comes back around the same time each year. All old tasks stay, but some new ones may be added, too.

There are plenty of other festive tasks to get done after this one. Next, you might work on finding gift boxes around the valley, catching all Festive Fish, and tackling Winter Warmth Star Path duties.

ARK Survival Ascended Lost Colony promo image

ARK Survival Ascended‘s Lost Colony DLC has finally been released after a launch delay, and it brings a host of new creatures.

While the list of prehistoric creatures was already vast in the base game, Lost Colony adds to them. This guide will list all the new creatures along with their brief in-game descriptions. As always, I will add to this guide if I come across new names that are part of the DLC but not mentioned here.

Complete list of Lost Colony DLC creatures in ARK Survival Ascended

The theme of the Lost Colony DLC is pretty same as that of the base game. Some of the new creatures are straight from the books of history. Others are mutated monsters that are byproducts of the misuse of technology.

NamesDescription
AureliaxA brand new flying creature, you can use the Aureliax to destroy enemies with gravity effects.
CryolophosaurusDeals damage via narcotic sludge, but it can also buff your allies.
DesmodusThe Desmodus uses echolocation to target and damage enemies, and it can be a great option in areas where visibility is low.
GigadesmodusThis massive creature is an absolute tank and also allows you to place a mobile command center on its back. This is arguably one of the best creatures to find in the Lost Colony expansion.
GloonThe strange creature fires a laser, and it can make other creatures go into a frenzy and lose self-control.
GargoylesMythical creatures that are made of stone, and they can be extremely dangerous if you aren’t careful.
MalwynThis is the aggro version of the Veilwuyn, and offers multiple forms of attacks to take down enemies.
NeophytesAnother massive bat-type creature that can absorb a great deal of enemy damage before feeling the effects.
OssidonA giant primate that throws sludge balls at enemies. It can deal damage from range.
RevenantsThese are corrupted remnants of Thralls and dinosaurs that have been corrupted by the liquid Edmundium.
SolwynSimilar to Malwyn, it can use ice for different reasons, and can also be used as a mount.
VeilwynAn Arctic Fox that can teleport (has some other handy uses as well).

Overall, I really love the different creatures that are part of the Lost Colony DLC. Vielwyn is a curious creature that comes in two other forms: Solwyn and Malwyn. There might be more forms that I haven’t discovered yet.

I have always loved gigantic creatures, and it doesn’t get any better than the Gigadesmodus, which is absolutely massive. Taming the beast is a challenge in every sense, and I will have a guide to help you do the same. While I would have loved for the DLC to have more creatures, the different types make up for the lack in quantity.
