DragonSword: Awakening is coming soon to PC users worldwide, and you won’t need to wait long to start your adventure. Developed and published by Hound13 Inc., it’s an anime-style open-world RPG set in the continent of Orbis. While there’s plenty of things on offer, let’s first check out when the game goes live.

DragonSword: Awakening release countdown

DragonSword Awakening launches worldwide on Wednesday, July 22. The release date was confirmed earlier by the publishers, and I don’t expect any changes this late. The following countdown will expire once the game goes live. The countdown is based on the following times:

  • 3pm BST
  • 5pm CST
  • 6pm EST
  • 10pm UTC
  • 11pm BST
  • 12am CEST (July 23)

The times are based on SteamDB. Any changes, as unlikely as they may be, will be duly updated in this guide for your benefit.

What to expect from DragonSword: Awakening

In DragonSword: Awakening, you play as Lute, a young boy traveling to find his destiny in Orbis. You end up meeting Johnny, a mercenary, and Castella, an elf, as you venture deeper into the life of a mercenary. Your objective is to become the Dragon Sword, who is prophesized to be the hero who serves the continent. The journey will be long and filled with plenty of challenges.

You get to enjoy and explore the beautiful open world of Orbis, which offers plenty of thrills.

You will also uncover secret cellars beneath watchtowers and treasure‑filled deep seas, providing all the essential resources you need.

Though the game can be played solo, trusty allies will stand by you on your journey to become the Dragon Sword.

Like any true RPG, it offers plenty of crafting, cooking, and recipes to try. DragonSword: Awakening also features a unique tag‑team action that generates status effects and signal skills.

There are 19 heroes, each with its own abilities, skills, and more. You can create endless combos by switching signals to your advantage.

While DragonSword: Awakening might appear like a gacha, it will be a premium one-time pay experience. You get everything within the game itself, and there will be no microtransactions as things stand. There’s no demo currently available on Steam, but you can wishlist to stay on top of the upcoming launch.
