Daredevil: Born Again actor who played Gustave in Expedition 33 says he’s finally played the 2025 game of the year

Expedition 33 Gustave

The voice behind Clair Obscur: Expedition 33’s Gustave has finally played the award-winning game almost a year after it launched.

It’s hard to fault him, though. He’s been quite busy defending Hell’s Kitchen from Kingpin as Matt Murdock/Daredevil in Disney Plus’s Daredevil: Born Again series. But actor Charlie Cox said today that he’s finally picked up the sticks to try out Destructoid’s 2025 game of the year (and basically everyone else’s, too).

“I’m not very good, because obviously, it’s a skill set, but I’ve played it,” he said in a new interview with GamesRadar at the 2026 BAFTA Games Awards today, where Expedition 33 will likely add even more awards and accolades to its resume.

Cox admits he’s not the biggest gamer, and he famously said last year that he knew very little about the project after finishing up his work in a short time. But now, he’s at least began the journey, although finishing it is another story entirely.

“There are people who’ve played it, there are people who’ve completed it, there are people who have 100%’d it, which – as far as I could work out – is 50 plus hours, maybe 100 hours, sometimes, of gameplay,” he said. “I’ve played the opening bit for a while and kind of walked around and met the people and garnered the information and all that kind of stuff. Not very well.”

As I mentioned earlier, Cox is currently killing it in his role as Daredevil for Marvel, marking a triumphant return to the character with season two of Born Again, which brought him back into the role years after the Netflix Daredevil series was unfortunately canceled. He’s become that character over the years, the same way that many will always connect his voice to Gustave (and Gustave’s face with Robert Pattinson, funnily enough).

Cox was also photographed on the BAFTA red carpet with fellow Expedition 33 actor, Ben Starr, who played Verso and is in what feels like every other game these days. Cox, meanwhile, is more embedded in Hollywood.

I can’t help but wonder what that conversation was like between the two actors, given the game’s events. Speaking of which, I’m waiting for updates on if Cox will finish the game after he witnesses a certain event in the first act.

Players exploring the world of Windrose

Tumbaga Ingot is one of those rare materials that you’ll need to find in Windrose, which is required to ascend different equipment. It’s one of the several types of Ingots you can obtain in the game. However, you can’t smelt it, which makes the process more difficult.

Let’s find out how you can get this unique ingot on your pirate adventure.

How to find Tumbaga Ingots in Windrose

So, you can’t smelt and make Tumbaga Ingots. In fact, you can only find it in specific locations. To find Tumbaga Ingots, you’ll have to head inside Ancient Ruins. Ruins are marked on the map, but their locations will be different due to the nature of the game’s map.

When you reach an Ancient Ruins, you’ll find a cellar entrance. Just look around the ruins, and you’ll find the cellar. Take the entrance to reach underground, and look around. Look for chests that are located in the ruins. Be careful, as you’ll find enemies (I found them during my rounds, but this can once again be different in your case).

Open the chests, and you’ll find Tumbaga Ingots. On my save, they’re not guaranteed, but the spawn rate appears to be quite common. However, they only appear to spawn inside the specific chests found in Ancient Ruins. This could change in the future since Windrose is in early access, and there will be updates.

How to use Tumbaga Ingots in Windrose

When you find a Tumbaga Ingot and read its description, it says that it’s required for ascending weapons. Since I am in the mid-game stage, I haven’t actively reached the stage where the weapons can be ascended. It’s tied behind a quest.

While it will take some time before you can ascend weapons, you can upgrade them quite early in the game. If you choose to upgrade them, you can improve their stats and how they function. Ascension, on the other hand, adds new skills for the weapons.
