Cyclops, Devil Dinosaur join Marvel Rivals for Season 8: Sins of Alchemax this week

Another new season of Marvel Rivals is upon us, and this one is straight up prehistoric.

Season eight of Rivals brings about the arrival of one of the game’s most ridiculous characters yet: Devil Dinosaur. Joining the existing roster with Rocket Raccoon and Jeff the Land Shark, this game is getting really wild with the character selection choices. Not to be outdone, X-Men member Cyclops is bringing his optic blasts to the battlefield, too.

“The Gilded Saint may have purged the Time Plague from Lower Manhattan, but the root of the rot remains,” the season’s details reveal. “Alchemax Headquarters stands defiant, shielded by a mysterious crimson Chronovium — fueled by a dimension of pure, kinetic force. The stakes have never been higher. Prepare yourselves – the Alchemax conspiracy goes deeper than we ever feared.”

New hero: Devil Dinosaur

Devil Dinosaur officially joins the game in season eight at launch as its 50th hero. Full details about the dino are incoming soon, but he is a Vanguard that comes with a team-up ability where The Punisher can ride on his back.

“In combat, he relies on his massive physique and a force field shield to brawl on the front line,” Guangguang revealed. He also has a bite ability that will cause enemies to bleed, and his ultimate transforms him to a bigger form where he can then charge through the battlefield.

New hero: Cyclops

The season eight reveal showed X-Men leader Cyclops defending Lunella, AKA Moon-Girl, from Alchemax attackers before being apprehended. That awoke her best friend and companion, Devil Dinosaur, and now it’s about to get real Jurassic in New York.

Cyclops is the second hero joining the roster in season eight some time in June 2026 for the mid-season update, and is likely a Duelist.

      • Telepathic Pulse falloff now begins at 3s (was 3s) after not hitting an enemy.
      • Increased Damage Reduction gained during Diamond Form and Psionic Seduction (Ultimate) from 20 percent to 25 percent.
      • Reduced Mind’s eAgis reposition cooldown from 3s to 1s.

      • Jeet Kune Do hits now reduce the cooldown of Dragon’s Defense by 1.2s (up from 1s).

      • Increased the ammo capacity of Element Guns from 40 to 50.

    • Wolverine

      • Reduced the trigger cooldown of Regenerative Healing Factor from 105s to 90s.

    • Moon Knight

      • Reduced Moonlight Hook cooldown from 15s to 12s.

    • Squirrel Girl

      • Reduced the cooldown of Mammal Bond from 15s to 12s.

    • Spider-Man

      • Increased Spectacular Spin damage per single spherical Spell Field from 13.6 to 15. (Total damage over the 2.4s duration increased from 408 to 450).

    • Mister Fantastic

      • Increased Stretch Punch damage from 65 to 70.
      • Removed Flexible Elongation’s movement speed reduction effect. However, the charge time for each use has been reduced from 8s to 6s.
      • Reduced the energy cost of Brainiac Bounce (Ultimate) from 3,400 to 3,100.

    • Phoenix

      • Increased Cosmic Flames’ direct hit damage from 50 to 55. Reduced explosion damage when detonating Spark marks from 40 to 35.

      • Reduced Force Physics push distance from 12m to 10m and damage from 55 to 50.

      • Increased Bombard Mode hit damage per projectile from 16 to 17.

      • Reduced the energy cost of C.Y.A. (Ultimate) from 4,300 to 4,000.

    • White Fox

      • Increased healing amount provided by the surrounding aura during Fox Form Awakening from 25/s to 365/s; Reduced the burst healing generated by each successful attack during Fox Form Awakening from 35 to 25.
      • Increased Blessed by the Nine healing to allies during Kumiho Unleashed (Ultimate) from 40/s to 60/s.

      • Reduced Allied Inspiration damage boost provided to allies from 12 percent to 8 percent. New effect: now provided a flat 100 movement speed boost to allies.

      • Increased Illusion’s Mystical Missile healing ratio from 90 percent to 100 percent.
      • Reduced Illusion’s Mystical Missile damage ratio from 90 percent to 80 percent.
      • Increased the energy cost of God of Mischief (Ultimate) from 4,300 to 4,500.

New map: Alchemax Headquarters

Coming on May 28, this new Doom Match map will have lore implications of rescuing Cyclops and Moon Girl.

New accessories

Devil Dinosaur, The Thing, Black Widow, Angela, Hela, Namor, and The Punisher will be getting their own accessories on May 15 with the new season update.

Liga F and Liga Portugal will be the minor leagues accompanying La Liga TOTS. The two sets of promo cards will be in packs starting Friday, May 15. The following countdown will expire once the cards are live in Ultimate Team.
