Vampires have taken over the city, and it’s up to you to put a stop to them in the Blood Hunt mode in Marvel Rivals. Before you can dive in, you have to select who you want to brave this deadly battle as.
Only a select group of heroes is available in this mode, and some are much better suited for the fight than others. If you want to have the best odds of success and work your way through every available difficulty level, you need to know the best characters in the Blood Hunt mode in Marvel Rivals.
Table of contents
All Marvel Rivals Blood Hunt characters ranked
There are six different heroes you can choose from in the Blood Hunt mode in Marvel Rivals. Each one has access to their standard abilities, as well as plenty of unlockable moves that are specific to Blood Hunt. Here are all six heroes ranked from worst to best.
Keep in mind that every character you can use in this mode is completely viable with the right build and team, but some are just easier to find success with than others. Every hero shines in certain situations, so having a well-rounded team composition is a great way to get through any tougher levels you might be struggling with.
6) The Punisher
The overall worst character to pick is The Punisher, who excels against singular targets but is easily taken down by large groups. He’s perhaps the best character for quickly shredding bosses in this mode, making him a great ally if you’re struggling with any of them.
Unfortunately, though, he has a really tough time against massive groups of enemies, which is what you’re facing for the vast majority of every round. You certainly don’t want more than one of him on any team, but he can work well alongside a few others listed higher up. He’s the only hero who can’t really run through this mode alone, though, as you won’t be able to survive those big crowds.
5) Blade
The old king of the Marvel Zombies mode has fallen off quite a bit in Blood Hunt. The biggest issue with Blade is that you really need to be able to deal damage from a safe distance away for the boss battles in this mode, especially for the tough Dracula boss fight, so you have to lean into a gun-focused build for him. It takes a lot of building to really make this build shine, whereas other characters excel in this area right away, making Blade a less viable pick, as he simply takes too long and too much investment to match the potential other available heroes have from the start.
4) Thor
Thor is a trusty, reliable pick who falls around the middle of the pack. He’s another hero you generally only want one of on your team, but he is a strong anchor who deals healthy amounts of damage and excels at staying alive, allowing the entire team to find success.
In most situations I’ve been in where most of the team was down, it’s always been Thor who managed to stay alive long enough for all of us to respawn, or when I’ve played him, it’s been me holding the line for my allies. He’s very sturdy, strong, and dependable in this mode, making him a mighty hero to choose or have at your side.
3) Jeff the Land Shark
The top three for this mode are really interchangeable, as all of them absolutely shine and dominate on the battlefield. Purely because he’s not as easy to run solo as the other two ranked higher than him and because he takes more time to build up effectively, Jeff the Land Shark claims the third-place spot. He’s a beast on the battlefield once you have a few levels and solid gear, though.
Jeff works best when you give him an Overflowing Waters-focused build, which enhances his spitting abilities, allowing you to dish out high-impact damage that easily covers swarms of vampires or one massive boss. His unlockable Forked Stream move, which breaks the stream into three, is especially helpful for allowing him to reach his full potential.
I had a Jeff on my team who managed to spit once at every single boss we faced, taking them down literally just one second into the fight. It takes a lot to build him to this point, but the potential is certainly there, and you can feel it when playing him. It’s also a fun added bonus that you can eventually make him big, just like we could in Marvel Zombies.
2) Moon Knight
Moon Knight is an absolute blast to play in Blood Hunt, and luckily, he’s also one of the best at it. There are two ways to build him, and while both are viable early on, you’ll want the ranged build, which is the Phases of the Moon Ankh-focused one, to succeed in the endgame. The melee, kicking-focused build is extremely fun, and you can eventually switch back to it once you have top-tier gear and loads of levels, but for generally getting through the higher levels, you need to use the Ankh build instead.
Once you get his upgrades going, Moon Knights’ Ankhs can be attached to bosses, helping you shred through them with ease. They’re also superb for crowd control, which makes Moon Knight a useful ally in every single type of fight you encounter in this mode. He’s also got one of the best mobility moves, allowing him to jump and fly, so you can quickly flee to safety as needed. Overall, he’s fun, strong, and a well-rounded pick who works well early on, but also gets ridiculously more powerful as you build him up.
1) Squirrel Girl
Considering she somehow managed to beat Thanos on her own, it’s not too surprising that the reigning champ and best hero you can use to go up against deadly swarms of vampires and imposing bosses is the one and only Squirrel Girl. Her superb mobility, her means to dish out high-impact damage from far away, and her overall well-rounded skillset shine in this mode.
She can stand entirely on her own and find success in every fight she faces. Squirrel Girl works extremely well in the early stages as you’re learning how this game mode works, but she also manages to stay powerful even in the toughest difficulties you face, especially as you outfit her with better upgrades. She’s easy to play, has unmatched damage output, and has no issues taking on both large groups and singular strong bosses, making her the overall best pick for Blood Hunt.
Best character for Blood Hunt in Marvel Rivals
Overall, the strongest, most reliable pick for Blood Hunt is Squirrel Girl. Moon Knight and Jeff the Land Shark are also really great choices, though, and any one of these three could be considered the best character for this mode, depending on the build and gameplay style of the person playing them.
You can’t go wrong choosing to build up and stick with any of these three, as all of them shine in both lower and higher difficulty levels, making them worthy investments that’ll help you get through to the very end. These three characters also dominate the leaderboard that you can view in the Blood Hunt mode, showcasing that players who invest in them have managed to secure top rankings.
Now that you know who to play as, you’re ready to take on the toughest trials Blood Hunt has for you. This includes unlocking the hidden Kingpin boss, getting the Kingpin Accessory, and earning Kingpin Dethroned Accessory Shards.
