All Poppy Playtime: Chapter 5 characters and their voice actors, listed

With recurring characters and only worn-down faces to turn to, the Laboratories in Poppy Playtime: Chapter 5 are sure to surprise you with appearances from friends both old and new.

Surprisingly, there’s still no sight of Boxy Boo in Poppy Playtime. But fan favorites make their return in unexpected ways, including a lot of screentime with Poppy Playtime‘s most infamous mascot.

Here are all the characters you’ll meet in order of their appearance in Poppy Playtime: Broken Things, and the people whose voicework made them come to life.

All characters in Poppy Playtime: Broken Things

Huggy Wuggy

Broken Things feels like a throwback to chapter one, but with more polish and depth given to the famous vent chase sequence. No longer is Huggy Wuggy restricted to pure adrenaline moments. This mascot makes his appearance throughout this title, being the perpetual menace that he is. There is an entire section dedicated to evading and distracting Huggy as he acts as the main antagonist until other experiments step into his spotlight.

Outimals

The Outimals are showcased in the live-action opening for Broken Things. While some form of Critter has been present since Fly in a Web, the Outimals are harmless. Used to pure darkness, they scavenge, hunt, and fear when the eight-legged Prototype patrols the Labs. It seems the further we venture into Playtime Co., the worse the experiments are. Desperate, alone, and perpetually in a state of fear, the Outimals are just some of the many victims of Playtime. This title demonstrates not only the physical but also the psychological torment that the experiments continue to go through.

Giblet

The latest ally to join the fray is Giblet. There isn’t much about this experiment, but he’s a friend of Poppy. His role in Broken Things is a replacement for Doey and Ollie. He acts as the guiding voice to rely on throughout this installment, even though he doesn’t have much confidence to help you see this fight through. His appearance is that of a docile Outimal who has clearly been stitched up and experimented on frequently. With betrayals and plot twists from previous allies, it’s nice to see a face that’s nothing more than friendly.

Chum Chompkins

Chum Chompkins is the silent ally and close friend of Giblet. Much like Bron, Chum cannot speak; though his lack of speech likely stems from experimentation, rather than an incident. He acts as Prototype’s handyman and may be the culprit for Playtime Co.’s malfunctions/keeping power running throughout the facility. Though he has little screentime, he is an ally for following Prototype’s orders to keep others safe and himself in danger, for the overarching antagonist could dispose of him at any moment.

Bron

After chapters of hearing about Bron but only seeing a toy version of him, the full-sized dinosaur mascot makes a full appearance. Our time with him is short, and instead feels like he’s there to deliver a piece of lore about the current mental and physical state of Playtime’s experiments. Bron, in his own way, is a new ally because he has a replacement for our stolen GrabPack.

Ms Gracie

Ms. Gracie is the only live-action character we see in Broken Things. While we do not meet her as she’s only shown in recordings, with more lore delivered in audio and notes, Gracie’s role in Playtime is clear. This character is similar to Mommy Long Legs—being a maternal figure for the orphans. She’s the face of the conditioning that happened within the Labs, the face and voice that manipulated and brainwashed children into believing they’re toys.

Lily Lovebraids

Lily Lovebraids acts as the secondary antagonist in Broken Things. She resembles a doll with a yandere-like attitude. An experiment that views the world like a spoiled child, most of the lore in this chapter looks at who Lily was before and after becoming this long-haired princess. Her role in this chapter is to provide fetch quests for her dinner party, where she’s hosting a very important person. An underling to Prototype, Lovebraids has a mansion to herself where she subjects Critters to all kinds of torment—and has the time of her life while doing so.

Kissy Missy

She’s back. Kissy Missy survived and has found her way back to her friend, Poppy. This silent and resilient ally to the protagonist returns to prove herself once again. Though worse for wear, Kissy Missy continues to prioritize Poppy’s safety above all else. We also get more lore about her relationship with Huggy Wuggy. She is the MVP of Poppy Playtime.

Poppy

Poppy ended up in a cell in Lily Lovebraids’ basement. I flip-flop between trusting this character with every chapter I play, but I’m fully on her side this time around because she and Kissy Missy have gone through so much. Perhaps I have some kind of Stockholm Syndrome at this point.

Prototype

Finally, the big reveal. Years of seeing his metal legs in the shadows, hearing his voice distort through Playtime’s channels—The Prototype’s full form has been unveiled. In one of the best scenes of Poppy Playtime, Prototype is finally here to stay as he steps into the spotlight to take his crown (or jester hat). Though the idea of him was perhaps scarier than this reveal, now that he can chase you in typical Poppy Playtime fashion, it is about damn time we got to see what all the fuss was about. Now, we can take this monstrosity down.
