The Last Chieftains DLC has been a pretty massive addition to Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition, and it brings plenty of new civilizations to enjoy.
There are three new civilizations that you can access with the help of the DLC. But that’s not all, since eight new unique units are also part of the DLC themed around South America.

If you get The Last Chieftains DLC, you can play as the Mapuche, the Muisca, and the Tupi. All three civilizations have their roots in South America, and the cultural influence shows in the buildings and design elements.
- Mapuche: The Mapuche civilization specializes in counter-tactics and unconventional cavalry. There are two unique units in the form of the Kona and the Bolas Rider (more on them later).
- Muisca: The Muisca excels in economic strength, piety, and deadly ranged soldiers. The Guecha Warrior and Temple Guard are two unique units you find in this civilization.
- Tupi: If you want to master the jungles and coastline of what’s modern Brazil, the Tupi is your go-to civilisation. The unique units include the Blackwood Archer and the Ibirapema Warrior.
All three civilizations also have their own campaigns that you can complete as part of the DLC.

Slay The Spire 2 is coming soon, and its release date is closer than what you might anticipate.
Earlier on Feb. 19, Mega Crit revealed the official trailer for the game and also announced the release date. Up until now, we knew that the game would be released on early access in March. Thankfully, we have the official date, and this guide will help you keep track of the upcoming launch.
Slay The Spire 2 release countdown
Slay The Spire 2 will release in early access on Thursday, March. 5. The release date was confirmed earlier tonight, and the following countdown will expire once the game goes live.
[hurrytimer id=”1181658″]
The countdown is based on the following timings.
- 8am PT
- 10am CT
- 11am ET
- 4pm UTC
- 5pm CET
The timings mentioned here are based on the information available on SteamDB. However, the timings are extremely likely to change before March 5. If that happens, I will duly update the changed timings on this guide.
What to expect from Slay The Spire 2
Slay The Spire 2 marks the return of the roguelike deckbuilder in a new form, as the Spire has awakened after 1,000 years and poses a new threat. Just like the Spire has evolved, so has the ability to move up the towers.
The key objective remains the same, as you have to move up the Spire by defeating different enemies with your own cards, abilities, and more. No two climbs will be the same, as you’ll have to constantly evolve your deck and strategies as per the enemies in front of you.
There’s a whole cast of returning and new characters with five different options available for you to pick from. Every character will have a unique playstyle, and you can improve them further on your run.
There’s one huge change as you no longer have to play alone. You can choose to climb the Spire on your own, or you can partner with up to three other players in the new co-op mode. Since Slay The Spire 2 will release in early access, expect to find plenty of new features that will be added down the line as future updates.
