Alien: Isolation sequel gets first teaser trailer, and it seems we’re leaving space behind

After establishing itself as one of the best horror games ever made, Alien: Isolation has remained the sole Creative Assembly title in that genre, with the company focusing on producing its other franchises over the last 12 long years.

But now, a new trailer for the Alien: Isolation sequel has come out, and while brief, it teases the next location that we’ll be given to explore and survive in. The trailer essentially zooms in on a station door, which, when opened, shows a brief glimpse of the world outside: a harsh planet caught in a brutal storm. It’s dark, immediately perilous from first glance, and likely the place we’ll have to go out to instead of the previous game’s Sevastopol Station.

Unfortunately, there aren’t a lot of details in the trailer itself that could point to concrete parts of the Alien universe or, God forbid, a release date or anything else of the sort. One of the most iconic planets, which has a confirmed human presence on it, is LV-426, also known as Acheron, which appears in the first and second Alien movies. Whether the climate shown can appear on that planet is unclear to me, but it’d be a good place to choose given its recognizable status in the franchise.

Of course, today, April 26, is also the so-called Alien Day, itself a reference to the planet LV-426. If we’re going to go full tinfoil hat on this, I’d say that alone points to the setting of this next game, but let’s be real: no one truly knows what Sega and CA are cooking behind closed doors.

Sega also launched a dedicated webpage for whatever this sequel turns out to be, but also included no details other than the trailer so far.

We’ve been aware of an Alien: Isolation sequel for years now, as CA confirmed it back in 2024, some 10 years after the game’s initial release. The first title allegedly had “poor sales,” as it shipped “only” over two million copies, which was likely the reason behind its long, long time spent in… isolation.

As the Alien franchise is slowly but surely making a mainstream comeback, what with Alien: Romulus and Alien: Earth coming out back to back, it could be that Sega now has new partnerships or reasons to ship another game in the series, which this time will hopefully sell “better.”

Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred cover

Season 13 and the Lord of Hatred DLC are coming soon to Diablo 4, and this guide will help you keep track of both. The second major DLC for the game since its launch has plenty in store for players to enjoy, but first things first.

Let’s find out when the new season and the DLC go live worldwide.

Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred and Season 13 release countdown

The launch day and time for the DLC and the new season were confirmed earlier by developers Blizzard. The following countdown will expire when the Lord of Hatred DLC becomes available across all platforms. The update drops on April 28 in most regions across the world, with the Americas being the rare exception.

The countdown is based on the following timings.

  • 4pm PT (April 27)
  • 6pm CT (April 27)
  • 7pm ET (April 27)
  • 11pm UTC (April 27)
  • 12am BT
  • 1am CET
  • 7am CST
  • 8am KST

The timings are unlikely to change this late. Season 13 will go live 30 minutes after the Lord of Hatred DLC becomes available. You’ll need to download an update to enjoy all the new content. Unlike the new season, Lord of Hatred is a paid DLC (unless your existing edition already entitles you to the expansion).

What to expect from Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred DLC

The second expansion will feature you taking your final stance against Mephisto across a new campaign. There are two new classes to master, and you’ll discover plenty while exploring Skovos. That’s not all, as the new expansion also overhauls the endgame as we know it. This will also affect how gear progression has worked so far.

Additionally, the Lord of Hatred DLC is perfect for beginners. It also includes the previously released Vessel of Hatred at no extra cost, so you get to experience both expansions. If you’re yet unsure about whether the new DLC is for you, here’s our review of it.
