Alexander Morton, best known to gamers for voicing Zoltan Chivay in The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings and its sequel The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has died at age 81, CD Projekt Red has confirmed.
Morton was born in Glasgow, Scotland, on March 24, 1945. He trained at the Royal Central School for Speech and Drama between 1965 and 1968, which he followed up with a prolific career in theater, TV, film, and eventually video games. His most popular role in television was as Golly Mackenzie in the Monarch of the Glen show, as well as other British series like Taggart, Second Sight, and others.
His stage work includes performances with the Raindog Theater Company, which he founded alongside prominent Scottish actor Robert Carlyle, with highlights such as the Scots-language rendition of Shakespeare’s Macbeth, among other plays.
Morton was no stranger to genre fiction and alternative media, having played the eponymous character in a BBC radio rendition of Bram Stoker’s Dracula as well as detective John Rebus in the BBC adaptation of the Rebus series of novels. Finally, Morton ventured into the world of video game voice acting, appearing in games like Heavenly Sword and Viking: Battle for Asgard.
His most prominent role in gaming came in 2012, when he appeared as Zoltan Chivay in The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings. Morton’s character immediately became one of the most beloved figures in CD Projekt Red’s take on Sapkowski’s Slavic fantasy world, which would later grow even more popular and beloved by the time The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt came out.
Morton’s Zoltan holds a special place in my heart, as The Witcher 3 is my favorite game of all time. He gave the character so much emotion, depth, and complexity, perfectly portraying Zoltan’s fiery temperament and more-than-kind soul. He is a character that is always looking out for his friends but is no stranger to stirring up trouble for himself, and I believe Morton’s take on the character is seldom going to be outmatched by anyone else.
We currently do not know if Zoltan Chivay will appear in The Witcher 4, but if he does, I hope with all my heart that it was Alexander Morton who gave him one last go, though he has already cemented himself as one of the best video game voices of all time.

Tumbaga Ingot is one of those rare materials that you’ll need to find in Windrose, which is required to ascend different equipment. It’s one of the several types of Ingots you can obtain in the game. However, you can’t smelt it, which makes the process more difficult.
Let’s find out how you can get this unique ingot on your pirate adventure.
How to find Tumbaga Ingots in Windrose
So, you can’t smelt and make Tumbaga Ingots. In fact, you can only find it in specific locations. To find Tumbaga Ingots, you’ll have to head inside Ancient Ruins. Ruins are marked on the map, but their locations will be different due to the nature of the game’s map.
When you reach an Ancient Ruins, you’ll find a cellar entrance. Just look around the ruins, and you’ll find the cellar. Take the entrance to reach underground, and look around. Look for chests that are located in the ruins. Be careful, as you’ll find enemies (I found them during my rounds, but this can once again be different in your case).
Open the chests, and you’ll find Tumbaga Ingots. On my save, they’re not guaranteed, but the spawn rate appears to be quite common. However, they only appear to spawn inside the specific chests found in Ancient Ruins. This could change in the future since Windrose is in early access, and there will be updates.
How to use Tumbaga Ingots in Windrose
When you find a Tumbaga Ingot and read its description, it says that it’s required for ascending weapons. Since I am in the mid-game stage, I haven’t actively reached the stage where the weapons can be ascended. It’s tied behind a quest.
While it will take some time before you can ascend weapons, you can upgrade them quite early in the game. If you choose to upgrade them, you can improve their stats and how they function. Ascension, on the other hand, adds new skills for the weapons.
