Wishblossom Ranch has all kinds of unique ingredients you can find, which means there are also plenty of special recipes to cook in Disney Dreamlight Valley. One of the many dishes you might want to cook up while exploring the ranch is Button Stew.
It’s always tough to figure out the right ingredients for a new recipe, as there are so many unique ingredients to choose from and no way to know the right ones until you simply try to cook. If cooking this dish has you stumped, here’s how to make Button Stew in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

Button Stew recipe in Disney Dreamlight Valley
The recipe for Button Stew is one Button Mushroom and one Carrot. When this recipe was first released, it was bugged and couldn’t be cooked, so there’s a good chance you may have tried the right recipe, but it didn’t work as expected.
All Wishblossom Ranch recipes involving Button Mushrooms were bugged when Wishblossom Ranch first released, so even if you had the right ingredients, the dish you got from cooking with them wouldn’t be what you wanted. Luckily, this bug was fixed in The Winter Ball update when Cinderella arrived in the valley on Dec. 10, which means you can now toss a Button Mushroom and a Carrot into a cooking pot as intended.
Button Stew is a highly beloved dish among horses, especially Khan, whom you unlock during the Crystal Caverns: Glamour Gulch quest. It’s tough to build your bond with him without it, as you likely won’t be able to give him all three of his favorite daily items, so it’s a meal you’ll likely want to cook regularly.
How to get Button Mushrooms in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Button Mushrooms are the main ingredient in this dish, and they can be found growing all around the wild in Glamour Gulch. This includes the Runway River, Paisley Park, Modish Marsh, and Haute Plateau areas.
This item appears as a small, circular, bright yellow clump of mushrooms. The tops are dotted with plus signs of different colors, including purple, blue, red, and more. They stand out quite well against the dark red and black color palette in Glamour Gulch, making them easy to find once you know where to look.
As you hunt around for this item, be sure to check inside all caves in Glamour Gulch. There are quite a few, and I’ve found many Button Mushrooms hidden away in them, so it’s always worth checking to ensure you don’t miss any.
How to get Carrots in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Carrots are a crop you must purchase, plant, water, grow, and harvest yourself. You can buy seeds from Goofy’s Stall in the Peaceful Meadow biome. They cost 10 Star Coins to buy, and roughly 15 minutes to grow. The growth time is cut down slightly to about 13 minutes if you plant them in the Peaceful Meadow region, since this is their native area.
If you’re looking for another dish horses enjoy, you might try cooking Beet Sugar Sculpture. And once you’re done cooking, there’s plenty more to tackle around Wishblossom Ranch, like feeding Sweet Bees, getting Old Braided Rope, completing The Skunk Rebellion, and acquiring all horse mount customization options.

ARK Survival Ascended‘s Lost Colony DLC has finally been released after a launch delay, and it brings a host of new creatures.
While the list of prehistoric creatures was already vast in the base game, Lost Colony adds to them. This guide will list all the new creatures along with their brief in-game descriptions. As always, I will add to this guide if I come across new names that are part of the DLC but not mentioned here.
Complete list of Lost Colony DLC creatures in ARK Survival Ascended
The theme of the Lost Colony DLC is pretty same as that of the base game. Some of the new creatures are straight from the books of history. Others are mutated monsters that are byproducts of the misuse of technology.
| Names | Description |
|---|---|
| Aureliax | A brand new flying creature, you can use the Aureliax to destroy enemies with gravity effects. |
| Cryolophosaurus | Deals damage via narcotic sludge, but it can also buff your allies. |
| Desmodus | The Desmodus uses echolocation to target and damage enemies, and it can be a great option in areas where visibility is low. |
| Gigadesmodus | This massive creature is an absolute tank and also allows you to place a mobile command center on its back. This is arguably one of the best creatures to find in the Lost Colony expansion. |
| Gloon | The strange creature fires a laser, and it can make other creatures go into a frenzy and lose self-control. |
| Gargoyles | Mythical creatures that are made of stone, and they can be extremely dangerous if you aren’t careful. |
| Malwyn | This is the aggro version of the Veilwuyn, and offers multiple forms of attacks to take down enemies. |
| Neophytes | Another massive bat-type creature that can absorb a great deal of enemy damage before feeling the effects. |
| Ossidon | A giant primate that throws sludge balls at enemies. It can deal damage from range. |
| Revenants | These are corrupted remnants of Thralls and dinosaurs that have been corrupted by the liquid Edmundium. |
| Solwyn | Similar to Malwyn, it can use ice for different reasons, and can also be used as a mount. |
| Veilwyn | An Arctic Fox that can teleport (has some other handy uses as well). |
Overall, I really love the different creatures that are part of the Lost Colony DLC. Vielwyn is a curious creature that comes in two other forms: Solwyn and Malwyn. There might be more forms that I haven’t discovered yet.
I have always loved gigantic creatures, and it doesn’t get any better than the Gigadesmodus, which is absolutely massive. Taming the beast is a challenge in every sense, and I will have a guide to help you do the same. While I would have loved for the DLC to have more creatures, the different types make up for the lack in quantity.
