Wordle’s run isn’t over yet – it’s about to make a comeback straight to TV

About five years ago, a little game called Wordle dropped onto an unsuspecting internet and became the obsession of word enthusiasts the world over. Now it’s about to take the plunge into television.

The New York Times, which bought Wordle from creator Josh Wardle back in 2022, has just announced that Wordle is about to become a TV show set to launch on NBC sometime next year.

Savannah Guthrie of Today will host the show, and late-night television legend Jimmy Fallon will produce it. Fallon has been interested in turning Wordle into a show since October of last year, and it looks like his dream is finally coming true.

In a statement hosted on People, Guthrie and Fallon made it clear they’re both just the slightest bit excited to be involved in the show. Grinning ear to ear, Guthrie described it as “super fast-paced and fun” and a “great family game.” Fallon, gracefully taking a few jabs from Guthrie’s Today co-anchor Craig Melvin, affirmed his faith in Guthrie, saying, “We can’t do it without (her),”

Guthrie also took some time to thank everyone who made the show possible.

We’ve been working on this for a really long time, and actually we just found out in February that we got picked up and we were supposed to shoot in March. And I just want to say a quick thank you to NBC and to Jimmy and his production company and the The New York Times and the studio and Universal because when everything happened with me and my family, they just stopped everything and said ‘We’ll wait for you.’ And Hollywood is a really tough business, and I didn’t expect that, and I just want to say thank you, it means so much to me.

“Fast-paced” and “family game” might not be the first words that most people associate with Wordle, but they pretty well describe what the game has become. With only 24 hours to guess the five-letter word at the heart of the game’s daily challenge, Wordle has become an incredibly social affair. Whether it’s families packed around tables deciding which precious letter to choose or tight-knit forums debating spelling, cooperation has been baked into Wordle‘s DNA.

NBC is currently fishing for potential Wordle players through the Casting Crane website. Anyone looking to join the game will need a reference photo of themselves and a list of three to four friends and/or family members they’d be willing to compete with, since this will be a team-based game. You’ll need to answer a few personal questions and provide a link to any social media you’re active on.

The deadline expires on May 29, 2026, so if you’re at all interested in joining the fun, make sure to sign up as soon as you can.

FC 26 Liga F and Liga Portugal TOTS release countdown

Liga F and Liga Portugal will be the minor leagues accompanying La Liga TOTS. The two sets of promo cards will be in packs starting Friday, May 15. The following countdown will expire once the cards are live in Ultimate Team.

This is the usual routine followed by EA Sports when it comes to TOTS promos. All the items mentioned in this guide will be in packs. However, watch out for TOTS Highlights and Honorable Mentions that will arrive as part of objectives and SBCs.
