The best classes and weapons in Survive Zombie Arena depend on both which abilities you’re using and also whether you’re playing solo or in a team. I’ll rank them all by keeping both modes of play in mind and even give you tips for solo play. Here’s my Survive Zombie Arena class and weapon tier list.

Survive Zombie Arena Class Tier List
I ranked the best classes in Survive Zombie Arena by ranking their abilities and how good they are in both solo and team play. Then I summed up the total scores for each ability and arranged the classes according to the sum total value. You’ll find the individual class ranking reasons below and I’ll mention why each ability is good as well as whether a class is more for solo or team play.
Best for Solo Play: Necromancer, Bastion and Medic.
Best Class Combo for Teams: Tactician and Medic with Vanguard Turret and Mending Tower.
S-Tier Classes
| S-Tier Classes | Ranking Reasons |
|---|---|
Necromancer Legendary |
• Arguably the best class in the game both solo and in a team • For solo play you can hide behind chokes like stairs or in sandbags and spam zombies • For team play you’re basically creating a wall of summons to stall for your team as you blast them • The nova ability is great in choke points when you have a lot of zombies around to detonate summons and get a bunch of cash • Overall a great class in any situation |
Medic Uncommon |
• Similar to Necromancer where Medic is great solo and in teams • For solo play you can put a bunch of player heals on the upper level • Then stay on the lower levels and don’t autoskip waves as you get healed constantly while taking down waves with Minigun • For team play the Mending Tower is the best ability in the entire game since it heals other people’s turrets and barricades • Incredibly powerful class due to player and structure heals |
Tactician Epic |
• Tactician has the best turret in the game with high range, HP and massive elite damage • If you have a Medic to heal it it’s the best combo in the game • It’s great even in solo since you can use Steel Barricades to protect it • Spikes aren’t that good but the Barricade and Vanguard Turrent are some of the best skills in the entire game |
A-Tier Classes
| A-Tier Classes | Ranking Reasons |
|---|---|
Bastion Legendary |
• Just an overall great class whose abilities aren’t S-Tier but are all pretty much A/B with no weaknesses • Bastion’s turrets aren’t as good as Tactician’s but the Bunker is amazing defensive utility in a team and one of the best skills • You just have an overall great mix of offense and tanking with your Drone and Bunker |
Demolitionist Epic |
• Demolitionist is weaker than Bastion and above classes but it’s an overall useful team-based class • This is mainly for the Shockwave Bombs that provide massive stalling for your team due to knockbacks • If you have a good Demo you’ll be making it high if they know how to place Shockwaves on choke points for crowd control • One of the best supports in the game |
B-Tier Classes
| B-Tier Classes | Ranking Reasons |
|---|---|
Engineer Rare |
• A weaker Tactician/Bastion but still pretty good • The turrets are weak but with proper Steel Barricade placement you can decently protect them • Needs a Medic to be good though for turret/structure heals |
Ninja Rare |
• While Ninja don’t contribute much utility their DPS is quite good • Blade Fury is one of the better DPS skills in the game • I would mainly focus on it and use Cloak to escape if you’re in a pinch • Shuriken is not the best |
C-Tier Classes
| C-Tier Classes | Ranking Reasons |
|---|---|
Uncommon Uncommon |
• Marksman is an okay DPS class that deals decent damage if you have a good frontline in your team • Overall it requires other classes to be useful so it’s a bit lower on the tier list |
Survivor Common |
• Survivor is a weaker Engineer/Bastion/Tactician but can be a good beginner horde killer • Barricades are worse than Steel Barricades but you can manage fairly well as a beginner to farm up for higher-tier classes • Just ignore the Auto Turret and spam Landmines in crowds and don’t autoskip waves |
Best Weapons in Survive Zombie Arena
Here are the top 5 best weapons in Survive Zombie Arena according to DPS and overall utility, zombie debuffs and crowd control potential:
- Arctic Striker: The best gun in the game for your final slot due to massive DPS but also freezing/stuns and boosted damage on frozen enemies for your team.
- Gumdrop Blaster: Competes for the #1 spot for the best weapon in the game both due to DPS and the slow.
- Flamethrower: Not as useful team-wise as the top 2 options but still deals amazing damage one-shotting most zombies at close range.
- Minigun: Just an overall excellent free-to-play weapon with some of the best DPS in the game – It will carry you as you grind classes.
- Heavy Rifle: I would personally stick with the Minigun since it’s free and has better DPS but the rifle can have better range so it’s down to play style preference and how much cash you’re willing to grind/spend.
As for other weapons, I would stick to the free-to-play ones since you always want to rush the final Slot 4 anyway for the best DPS. I don’t recommend spending Robux for the P2W weapons since eventually you won’t even use them when you reach Slot 4. But if we’re talking PW2 weapons the best ones are the Inferno Minigun and Lava Gatling.

Dead as Disco is now available worldwide in early access, and you can tweak the in-game settings to get the best performance on your PC. The first few hours have been pretty positive, and I didn’t encounter many stutters or lags.
That said, this guide will solve the problem of any lag if you’re encountering it on your adventure.
Best Dead as Disco graphics settings
Before I deep dive into the settings, here’s how my current setup looks.
- AMD Ryzen 5600G
- NVIDIA RTX 3060 12 GB
- 16 GB of DDR5 RAM
If you visit the Steam page of Dead as Disco, you won’t find the recommended settings. The minimum requirements are present, and this guide is meant for those who have a relatively weaker setup. If you’re having a powerful set of specifications, chances are that the game is running pretty smoothly.
- Window Mode: Windowed Fullscreen/Fullscreen
- Vertical Sync: Off
- Global Illumination Mode: Off/SSGI. Don’t go for Lumen as it will consume more hardware.
- Global Illumination Quality: Medium
- Shadows: On
- Shadows Quality: Medium/Low
- View Distance: Far
- Textures: Medium
- Effects: Medium
- Reflections: Low
- Post Processing: Medium
- Anti-Aliasing: Medium
- Upscaling Method: Use what’s applicable for your device.
- Frame Generation: Off
- Anti-Lag: Yes, if you have an NVIDIA card.
- Chromatic Aberration: On
- Speed Lines: Off
- Frame Rate Limit: 60 FPS
- Frame Rate Limit (Background): 30 FPS
- Frame Rate Limit (Menu): 60 FPS
Since our aim is to get a steady performance, I have kept a cap on the frame rate. While there are higher options above 60 FPS, the limit smoothens the overall performance. I faced no lag at 60 FPS, and it’s sufficient to enjoy the game. This limit can be slightly increased once Dead as Disco receives a few post-launch updates.
Vertical Sync is another option that you should keep turned off. You gain very little from it, while keeping it turned off allows your PC to consume fewer resources. Finally, use an Upscaler as applicable since it will keep the lags at bay.
All said, Dead as Disco‘s day one performance is pretty satisfactory, and I expect it to get better once the early access version moves closer to full launch.
