Phasmophobia player character update release date and time

The player character update for Phasmophobia officially launches on May 5 for all platforms where you can play the ghost-hunting game. An exact launch time for the update hasn’t been shared, and likely won’t be ahead of release, as is usually the case with Phasmophobia updates.

Although official update times aren’t shared by the devs, Phasmophobia sticks to a very consistent and reliable update schedule. As long as everything stays on track and no unexpected delays occur, there’s a very good chance we can expect this one to launch at 7am CT/1pm UTC.

Our countdown is set to the expected release time, and we’ve also translated it across major time zones if you want to know when it’ll be out for your region. If a different time is shared or any delays occur, we’ll provide an update here. Player character update features in Phasmophobia

As the name of this update hints, the player character update is all about completely revamping the player character models in Phasmophobia. With this update, the ghost hunter avatar has been reimagined with new animations, movement, and plenty of customization options, including an array of cosmetics.

The base models have all been updated and received names and lore to go with each one. You can then customize them by changing up their hair, some facial features, and adding facial accessories, like glasses. Then, you can fully outfit them with all kinds of different clothing, including innerwear, outerwear, accessories, and so much more.

All cosmetics you can use for your avatar can be bought using the cash you earn from contracts, unlocked through gameplay challenges, or acquired via Twitch Drops. There are no microtransactions for this feature. If you participated in the Cursed Hollow 2026 event and checked off the first personal goal section, you’ll be getting three cosmetics when this update releases, which are a necklace, a t-shirt, and a Forest Spirit Mask.

The death animation has been reworked to fit the new models, and several other standard animations also look a bit different now to match the new avatars. This includes features like reviving and using the EMF Reader. The goal with these changes is “more dynamic, realistic movements as the game makes its way towards its 1.0 release,” according to the devs.

Corey Dixon, the Art Director for Kinetic Games, told Destructoid that, “Player customization unlocks so many possibilities for [the team] in the future, and paired with the updated models and animations [they’re] also starting to up the scare factor even more–which is just a small part of the bigger journey to 1.0.”

This update is certainly a big one, but there’s still plenty more in store for later this year, according to the 2026 Phasmophobia roadmap. Next, we can look forward to the exciting Alan Wake Phasmophobia crossover event and the anticipated arrival of Phasmophobia’s 1.0 release, previously known as Horror 2.0.

Pilgrim's Peak tower in ARC Raiders

The Crash Mat is a unique consumable that has been added to ARC Raiders as part of the Riven Tides update, and having the blueprint will allow you to craft the item. At its core, the Crash Mat nullifies a massive amount of fall damage if you manage to land on it by any means.

But first, let’s find out a few potential locations for the blueprint.

ARC Raiders Crash Mat blueprint location

Like every other blueprint, there’s no fixed location to find the Crash Mat. It will boil down to your luck. The item’s blueprint can spawn on any map condition. I have stuck to the Riven Tides map since the update, and it’s where I also found the blueprint.

I found mine in a random container at the beach near Hotel Panorama Azzurro. It was an ordinary container, and I had spawned in the map quite early. If you’re unlucky, you can try looking into the rooms of the hotel itself. It’s a great spot to find trinkets, which also includes the miniature ships.

You can also use the Dockmaster’s Detector during the Beachcombing minor map condition to find containers that would otherwise remain hidden. These containers can also contain the blueprint. However, the Beachcombing condition isn’t mandatory to find the blueprint; it just theoretically raises the odds of your success.

How to craft the Crash Mat in ARC Raiders

Once you have the blueprint, you can start crafting the Crash Mat with the following resources.

  • One Electrical Components: You can craft it with raw materials or find it as random loot.
  • One Durable Cloth: You can craft it from the basic cloth.

To craft the Crash Mat, you’ll also need a Tier 2 Utility Workbench. To use the item, you have to aim it at the ground. Once thrown, it will create an airbag on the ground. When you fall on the item, it will absorb all the fall damage. When used strategically, it will allow you to get out of tight situations.
