With the release of the Whispers of the Wind update, the last princess missing from the game has arrived in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Pocahontas is here, but finding and recruiting her to your village can be rather tricky.
The vast majority of villagers are unlocked by entering and exploring their special Realms, which are worlds themed after the films they come from. Some characters, though, are lost in secret areas around the main valley, as is the case with Pocahontas. These types of villagers are the trickiest to locate, as the journey for finding each one is unique. If you’re struggling to track down this iconic princess, here’s how to unlock Pocahontas in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

How to get Pocahontas in Disney Dreamlight Valley
To unlock Pocahontas and get her to join your valley as an official villager in DDV, you need to:
- Complete all required prerequisites.
- Check your mailbox.
- Complete the Whispers in the Wind quest.
- Build Pocahontas’s house.
The Whispers in the Wind mission is a bit of a long one, but otherwise, she’s not too difficult to unlock once you understand what’s required to do so. Here’s a full breakdown of everything you need to get done.
Unlock Pocahontas requirements in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Before you can actually start the process of unlocking Pocahontas, there are three key prerequisites you must meet first. These requirements aren’t too bad, especially compared to those needed for other characters like Lumiere and Cogsworth or The Forgotten, but they can still take a bit of time to tackle, especially if you’re just starting off.
The three requirements you must have met to start the unlocking process are as follows.
- Unlock Moana. You need the help of this seafaring villager to track down Pocahontas, as you’ll have to venture out to sea and follow the mysterious wind to find the missing princess. Moana can be unlocked after opening the Moana Realm for 3,000 Dreamlight and completing both the After the Storm and How Far You’ll Go missions with her.
- Unlock the Forest of Valor biome. This area can be unlocked for 3,000 Dreamlight.
- Unlock the Dazzle Beach biome. It costs 1,000 Dreamlight to gain entry to this region.
Check your mailbox
Once the requirements have been met, check your mailbox for a letter from Moana called “I’ve found something strange…,” then head down to Dazzle Beach to start hunting for the Glowing Algae she mentions. You’re looking for a glowing blue and red seaweed-looking item that spawns randomly in this biome. Picking it up triggers the Whispers in the Wind quest.
Complete the Whispers in the Wind quest
Next up, you need to work your way through the Whispers of the Wind quest. This is the toughest part of unlocking Pocahontas, as this mission is a pretty big one. Here’s how to get it done.
- Visit the Mystery Island with Moana. Set out to explore a strange, hidden island to start searching for Pocahontas.
- Find the dig spots. Scour the island to find and dig up two Jewelry Pieces in hidden dig spots.
- Sail around the island to find three planks. Use Moana’s boat to explore the nearby seas in search of three planks you can use to make a bridge.
- Find the last Jewelry Piece. Use your Royal Fishing Rod to catch the final piece from the glowing whirlpool out in the ocean.
- Meet Pocahontas. Give the repaired necklace to the Swirling Flower Petal Winds to summon and meet Pocahontas.
Build Pocahontas’s house
The final main step in the Whispers of the Wind quest tasks you with placing and building Pocahontas’s house. This is the last thing you need to do to get her to move in, so select Moana’s quest icon on the Furniture page to place the outline for Pocahontas’s Yehakin wherever you like.
Then, interact with the sign in front of it to have Scrooge McDuck build it, free of charge. After this, you need to chat with Pocahontas one more time to finish the Whispers of the Wind quest and officially unlock her as a valley villager.

Pocahontas has four friendship missions you can tackle as you get to know her.

- Working Together (level four)
- A Little Algae Problem (level seven)
- A Raccoon’s Return (level 10)
