Six years into playing, and 2026 has to be the most excited I’ve ever been for new content in Phasmophobia. On Jan. 29, the devs revealed the overall roadmap for the year, and ghost hunting has never looked this good.
This year, we’re getting a full player character overhaul, a new map, two reworks for beloved locations, and a fresh event. By far the biggest update, though, is the highly anticipated 1.0 launch, which will finally see Phasmophobia exit early access.
We’ve seen lots of huge updates over the years, but nothing comes close to what the 1.0 update, previously known as Horror 2.0, is expected to bring. The arrival of this update will be “one of the biggest moments” Phasmophobia has had since launch, according to the official roadmap blog, as it’s set to overhaul the ghost hunting game to truly up the scare factor.
Exact details for this update have mostly been kept a secret, which is likely because the team wants the 1.0 release to “feel as fresh and exciting as when the game first launched back in 2020,” the CEO and Game Director of Kinetic Games told Destructoid. We do, however, know a few key features it will include, thanks to blog posts and the new roadmap.
1.0 will rework horror, meaning it’ll shake up factors like ghost animations, deaths, jumpscares, ghost models, interactions, sounds, and other similar gameplay aspects. It’ll also update the game’s lore, perhaps to tie in with the eventual Phasmophobia movie we’re getting.
Before we get to 1.0, though, the first major update of 2026 will be the player character update, which the devs told Destructoid will be landing sometime in the first quarter of the year. With this new system, we’ll finally be able to customize our characters. Loads of free cosmetics will be added, as will new animations for these updated models.
The first update of the year will also update animations for various actions, including equipment swapping, death, and revival. The Tier III version of Sanity Medication is getting an animation refresh, too, and will now be injected.
This year, we’re also getting yet another new map, which was the most surprising part of the roadmap to me. I love a new location to investigate, and all of the most recently released locations have been by far the best maps we’ve gotten, so this is easily one of my most anticipated additions.
Two beloved maps, 6 Tanglewood Drive and 13 Willow Street, are being reworked in 2026. All of the house maps have been or will be redone at some point to make them more detailed, unique, and better fit the overall aesthetic Phasmophobia is going for. These reworks will be similar to those of Grafton Farmhouse and Bleasdale Farmhouse, which means they will undergo small layout changes, overall furnishing refreshes, and receive lots of new interactions.
With its rework, 6 Tanglewood Drive is getting a new mystery we can solve. This may be something that is lore-focused, or perhaps another Easter egg puzzle event similar to the ones present on Point Hope and Nell’s Diner.
All annual seasonal events, including Cursed Hollow, Crimson Eye, and Winter’s Jest, will return once again this year. A fresh, one-time event is also arriving, though, which is sure to feature some exclusive prizes and new content to interact with.
Phasmophobia has seen loads of exciting updates and additions since it first launched, and it truly feels like each year has been bigger and better than the last. 2026 already has a lot in store, and there’s still lots we don’t know about, so it’s sure to be a massive year for ghost hunting.

The need for Magnetic Accelerators have certainly increased a level or two ever since the Trophy Display project went live in ARC Raiders.
The new project, part of the Headwinds update, requires you to complete five different stages of tasks to get some amazing rewards. Let’s look at how you can find this Epic item from your grind in the wasteland.

Best locations for Magnetic Accelerators in ARC Raiders
Like every crafting material in ARC Raiders, there’s no definite location for the Magnetic Accelerators. However, it’s an Epic-tier loot. While Epic-tier loot can spawn anywhere, you’re expected to find it more in red-colored zones on every map.
One of my favorite locations is the Village POI in Blue Gate. This location has a locked room, and I have received at least three Magnetic Accelerators in the past, and one since the Headwinds update went live. Their exact location inside the locked room is different, so you’ll want to go through every bit of the container.
Another strange, but great spot, appears to be the room right by the elevator at the Testing Annex location on Dam Battlegrounds. This room has three lootable containers, and I have found three Magnetic Accelerators from this room. It’s usually unlocked, but expect to find ARCs since there’s a nearby elevator.
As the Magnetic Accelerator is an Epic-tier loot, you can also play on the maps when the following modifiers are active.
- Harvester
- Matriarch
- Electromagnetic Storm
Playing the Night Raids will also raise your chances of finding a Magnetic Accelerator. However, there will be more hazards that you need to watch out for on your raids.
How to craft Magnetic Accelerators in ARC Raiders
If your luck is poor, you can directly craft Magnetic Accelerators. You’ll need a level 3 Refiner for that. Reaching this point is going to take time (especially if you’re a beginner).
Once you have a level 3 Refiner, you’ll going to need the following materials.
- Two Advanced Mechanical Components
- Two ARC Motion Cores
How to use Magnetic Accelerators in ARC Raiders
You’re going to need at least 10 Magnetic Accelerators to submit to the Trophy Display project. You’ll need them to complete stage 4 of the project. Doing so will get you five Wolfpack grenades, which are immensely useful. You’re also going to come one step closer to finishing the whole project and unlocking the completionist rewards.
