The first line of Pokémon LEGO sets are as awesome as they are pricy, and I may need them all

Original story: We’re still a little over a month and a half away from Pokémon Day, marking the franchise’s 30th anniversary, but the goodies are starting to show up already.

This morning, we may have gotten our first look at one of the Pokémon LEGO sets to mark the occasion as part of a huge collab between the two iconic brands, and it’s by way of a LEGO account on social media.

The image above, courtesy of @BlogsBrick on Twitter/X, shows the box view of what is labeled as the Kanto Region Badge Collection. And while it may not be what I was expecting from this collab (I really want a giant Zapdos or something), this is still really damn cool.

While the image looks very legitimate, with how realistic generative AI is these days, it’s hard to call it 100 percent real. But it sure looks real, and for now, I think we may have our first set that gamers everywhere will be preordering as soon as possible.

A recent leak on Reddit teased names of LEGO Pokémon sets that are due to drop in summer 2026, and this one wasn’t included, so it’s possible that it could be a part of the first wave coming at the end of February. That leak revealed some names of other sets, including Squirtle’s Training Buggy Adventure, Charmander’s Wild Encounter with Geodude, and Pikachu’s Training House.

Personally, I’m most looking forward to a few sets called Jolteon vs. Charizard, Eevee Evolution, and Mewtwo Lab. But until it’s official, we can only dream of what they look like for now, other than this potentially bad-ass badge collection to mark everyone’s first journey as Pokémon trainers on the Game Boy 30 years ago.

What do you think of this set, if it’s real? Will you be buying? Let us know in the comments and get ready for official Pokémon announcements on Feb. 27 and the weeks leading up to it.

Update on Jan. 12 at 8:45am CT: Well, the dam has broken, and everything is now official. A full suite of Pokémon LEGO sets have now been revealed, including price points, and they are incredible.

The initial sets include “Eevee” for $59.99, “Pikachu and Poke Ball” at $199.99, and the stunning “Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise” at a whopping $649.99, but it also includes the badge set above as a bonus for pre-ordering. You can scroll through them in our slideshow below.

The sets are all available on Feb. 27 for Pokémon Day, including an additional “Mini Pokémon Center” that is exclusive to LEGO Insiders.

A survivor in Quarantine Zone

Research Points, or RP in short, are a crucial currency in Quarantine Zone: The Last Check when it comes to accessing different upgrades, and you’ll need plenty.

Thankfully, there are a couple of great ways to get RP in the game. While the exact methods aren’t explained in the open, this guide will help you get as many Research Points as you might require.

How to get Research Points (RP) in Quarantine Zone

The easiest way of obtaining Research Points is by completing daily investigations. You’ll find new survivors visiting your base daily. Some of them will be clean, while others will be infected. It’s your task to go through the symptoms to differentiate between those who should live and those who should be eliminated.

While you can make a mistake, you won’t want to. Making the correct diagnosis will help you get excellent inspections. An excellent inspection rewards you with nine RP per survivor. Do this multiple times, and you’ll fetch a handy amount of RP.

However, a botched inspection (graded as poor) won’t reward you with any RP at all. That’s why you should always observe a survivor carefully before making a decision.

Another way of earning RP is from extractions. There will be an extraction every six days when you have to send your survivors to a safe zone. If you choose to send them to the lab for further research, you’ll be rewarded with RP. If you choose not to do so, you’ll be rewarded with money. Hence, the decision is on you.

How to complete upgrades in Quarantine Zone

Once you have enough RP, you can start upgrading your tools. But first, you’ll have to upgrade your base (essential if you play the campaign). How you choose to get the remaining upgrades, then, depends on you.

While the upgrades in the beginning are easy to get, the more advanced ones will require more RPs. Unless you’re in dire need of cash, you should send more survivors to the lab for additional Research Points.
