Wizard Alchemy Potion Tier List – Best Spells

wizard alchemy potions tier list

If you’re looking for the best potions and spells in Wizard Alchemy, rarity isn’t everything. Sometimes lower rarity potions are more powerful for farming and bosses while being easier to Refine. I’ll go through all the potions individually to rank them in this Wizard Alchemy Potion and Spells tier list.

Wizard Alchemy Potion/Spell Tier List

Before we dive below into the individual ranking reasons for the best potions in Wizard Alchemy, here are the ranking breakdowns:

  • S-Tier: Best of the best for farming and worth the grind for refining.
  • A-Tier: Great alternatives that are slightly weaker but still worth refining.
  • B-Tier: Less optimal Potions to Refine for mid-to-late game but decent secondaries.
  • C-Tier: Great early-to-mid game and easy to Refine as secondary spells.
  • D-Tier: Great early and easy to Refine as secondary spells in the mid-game.

Refinement Note: You need a total of 60 Potions to reach SSS Refinement if you’re going with a 100% guaranteed Refinement route with 3 normals for S, 4S for SS, 5SS for SSS.

Elemental Shard Note: If you want a specific Potion from this list use its Elemental Shard to craft it (Crafting guide & Recipes).

Race & Potion Combos: It’s best to combine some of these Potions with certain Races for the best build

S-Tier Potions/Spells

Potion & Minimum Magic Req. Ranking Notes

Night Wraith Potion
129 Magic
Optimal Chances:
2 Furnace Core
3 Dark Shards
• The best damage in the game with massive range
• Technically the best spell in the game but takes a ton of grinding to Refine to SSS
• I recommend using Frost Thorns to grind it
Frost Thorns Potion
80 Magic
Optimal Chances:
1-2 Ice Shard
Arrange 3-4 Furnace Cores/Copper Earrings
• While Night Wraith is #1 Frost Thorns is the best spell for me personally
• It’s amazing for farming
• Overall great damage, low cooldowns and it has infinite range
• The best part is it’s easy to get and Refine
• Goes best with Ice Crystal race
Dragon Breath Potion
99 Magic
Optimal Chances:
1-2 Fire Shard
Arrange 3-4 Furnace Cores/Copper Earrings
• Just as good if not slightly better than Frost Thorns
• Great damage and really short cooldown
• That said it’s harder to grind and Refine than FT
• Goes best with Fiendish Demon race

A-Tier Potions/Spells

Potion & Minimum Magic Req. Ranking Notes
Radiant Sword Potion
105 Magic
• Radiant Sword is up there in the top 3 highest damage spells in the game
• I just find Dragon Breath has a better cooldown and FT is easier to get
• Still this is an amazing late-game spell
Tornado Potion
70 Magic
• Tornado has lower damage than all the spells above
• That said, Tornado has such a short cooldown that it’s great for farming
• Combine it with Frost Thorns for a powerful spamming build

B-Tier Potions/Spells

Potion & Minimum Magic Req. Ranking Notes
Lotus Bloom Potion
100 Magic
• Lotus Bloom has more damage than Tornado above and all the spells below
• That said it has a long animation and higher cooldown so I ranked it a bit lower
• Plus it’s harder to farm and Refine than Tornado and Frost Thorns
• Still a high-end damage spell though just more awkward to use
Meteorite Potion
74 Magic
• Lower damage than Lotus Bloom and higher damage than Tornado
• That said Meteor has a higher cooldown so it’s overall not worth it in the end-game
• But it’s great for farming in the mid-game if you don’t have the above spells

C-Tier Potions/Spells

Potion & Minimum Magic Req. Ranking Notes
Earth Spike Potion
77 Magic
• Earth Spike is slightly worse than other Potions in its rarity IMO due to higher CD with not a lot of damage compensation
• It’s still pretty good for beginners and mid-game farming as a secondary
Fire Arrow Potion
45 Magic
• Not much to say about Fire Arrow other it’s great for early farming but replace it when you can or use it as a secondary
Lithe Potion
40 Magic
• Lithe is a decent support spell to have for moving faster which helps with kiting
• That said if you have a good race it’s not as needed later since it has no powerful Refine effects
• It’s better to just have another damage spell instead

D-Tier Potions/Spells

Potion & Minimum Magic Req. Ranking Notes
Ice Turtle Potion
52 Magic
• Ice Turtle Armor can be good for early farming but is overall bad since trading HP isn’t worth it
Earth Shield Potion
48 Magic
• Decent early farming but low range
Ice Spike Potion
10 Magic
Rock Blast Potion
8 Magic
Wind Blade Potion
6 Magic
• Good spells to start you off
• Easy to Refine for early game farming
• Replace when you can or use as secondaries later

Broken turbine in Subnautica 2

The Bioscanner is a pretty important tool in Subnautica 2, and we will need to unlock it to reach the end of the campaign in the early access. Moreover, we can also use it to scan alien lifeforms, which gives us more perks like extra Biomods.

Like most things inside the game, we will have to find the blueprint for this item before we get to use it.

Bioscanner blueprint location in Subnautica 2

To unlock the Bioscanner, we need to scan just one blueprint. However, we will have to travel all the way to the fourth Angel Comb in the Alien Ruins. From there, keep moving upwards until you come across a crashed Alterra starship wreck.

You can refer to the image above to find the entrance. You’ll need the Repair Tool to proceed since one of the key doorways will be inaccessible at first. Repair the door, and head to the next room. Take the door on your left in this room, and go to the next one.

You’ll find an Iso in this room resting on a dining table and an upgrade for your Tadpole submarine. Look carefully at the corner, and you’ll find a hole that goes through a chamber. Follow the chamber until you reach the end, and you’ll come across the Bioscanner. Use your Scanner to unlock the blueprint.

How to craft the Bioscanner in Subnautica 2

The Bioscanner is an upgrade over your Scanner, and you’ll need the Modification Station. You’ll also need the required resources to craft the Bioscanner. This item scans quicker, and it also allows you to check out certain lifeforms that aren’t detected by the ordinary scanner.

Moreover, you’ll also need the Bioscanner to scan the broken turbine before you can activate it to reach the end of the game (as of writing).
