How to get Fibrous Pulp in Subnautica 2

Subnautica 2 Curtain Gorgon

Resource collection in Subnautica 2 is tricky, especially when the game doesn’t outright tell you where to find certain resources. Although it’s easy to find certain early-game minerals like titanium and quartz, others, like Fibrous Pulp, are trickier to uncover.

How to find Fibrous Pulp in Subnautica 2

Obtaining Fibrous Pulp in Subnautica 2 requires you to craft a Survival Multitool. After creating one in your Fabricator, search the ocean floor for coral—particularly named ones such as Curtain Gorgon—and break it with your multitool to obtain some Fibrous Pulp.

Your first step is to craft a Survival Multitool. One tool requires three titanium, which you can find early on directly outside of your Lifepod. After collecting three, interact with your Fabricator inside the Lifepod and look for the tool under Equipment and Tools.

Once you get your hands on a Survival Multitool, your best bet is to focus on breaking Curtain Gorgon and Whip Gorgon around the Lifepod. Whip Gorgon plants blend into the environment, but are distinguishable by their larger appearance and red-pink tentacles. You’ll find one of these directly under the Lifepod.

Curtain Gorgon are much more common, appearing as pink corals on the ocean floor. You can find several 20 meters southwest of the Lifepod next to an underwater rock formation. There are multiple Curtain Gorgon here, letting you collect several Fibrous Pulp in one go.

Later in your playthrough, you’ll also encounter plants such as Feather Kelp and Macaron Sponge. Breaking these will also give you Fibrous Pulp to stockpile for later use. Most biomes within Subnautica 2’s ocean, especially early on, will have at least one coral type you can break with your multitool to gain Fibrous Pulp consistently.
