How to get Fiber in Outbound

Driving in van by orange fiber bushes in outbound

To make better gear, upgrade key items, and otherwise progress in Outbound, you need to collect lots of key resources. Some items are only needed occasionally, while others are staples in nearly every crafting project, as is the case with Fiber. Fiber is one of the toughest materials to get your hands on.

The maps you can explore are rich with resources, but many of them blend in with the environment quite well or may only be found in specific areas, which can make the collection process a bit tricky to navigate. If you’re having trouble tracking down this essential item, here’s how to get Fiber in Outbound.

How to find Fiber in Outbound

Fiber is primarily obtained from bushes in Outbound. Bushes are generally orange, but sometimes may be green, which often makes them difficult to distinguish from elements of the environment you cannot interact with. Anytime you think you may spot a bush that can be broken down for Fiber, be sure to stop and check it out just in case, as it’s always worth checking.

When you find a bush that can be harvested for Fiber, some text will appear in front of it, noting the size of the bush and the correct button to press to break it down. For smaller bushes, you don’t need any tools to harvest this resource. For larger ones, though, you’ll have to obtain and craft various upgrades for your Sickle.

This material may also sometimes be found in containers you open while exploring the world. This isn’t a reliable method of gathering Fiber, though, as it’s a random drop from only some of them, and you need a lot more than these few containers can provide. Still, you should always open containers you come across, as any loot you can get from them will prove useful for your journey.

Best locations to find Fiber in Outbound

Although bushes containing Fiber can be found all around the map, you’ll typically only come across one or two of them at most spots. It’s tough to farm and gather lots of this resource around these spots, so if you’re in need of lots of this resource, it’s a much better idea to visit the best locations to get Fiber, which are spots where bushes are especially abundant.

There are two spots I’ve found around The Outdoors map where bushes packed with Fiber are rich. The first and overall best spot is around the lake region located near the south end of the map. This is the triangle-shaped body of water found by the GrrrreatScott Gnome collectible, which is also east of the Fire Lookout Landmark. The banks around this lake have a bunch of orange bushes that are easy to spot from afar, making it an optimal spot for farming Fiber.

The second-best area to hunt for Fiber is close to another lake situated near the west end of the map. This one is directly south of The Community Tree Landmark and north of the Fire Lookout Landmark. These bushes are close to the west end of the map, so just drive as far west as you can to find them right by where the road ends.

I’ve scoured just about every corner of the map looking for Fiber, but no other spots come close to these two areas, as they have loads of bushes you can break down for this material. Once you clear them all out, continue progressing your journey for a bit, then head back to these spots to gather some more Fiber after the bushes spawn back in. Be sure to deposit all materials you have on hand before setting out to grab Fiber, as you’ll want all the storage space you can get.

Forza Horizon 6 Ice

Forza Horizon 6 somehow leaked and was cracked wide open over the weekend, leading to some players gaining access to it well ahead of its launch day.

The game isn’t due to launch until May 19 (the Premium Edition gets access four days earlier), but many have somehow unlocked and begun playing the game as early as a few days ago. Gameplay videos have begun appearing on YouTube, Twitch, and other websites, and it’s gotten a bit out of hand, forcing the game’s devs to address it.

It seems that players accessing the game likely has something to do with an early access review build appearing as 155 GB of unencrypted downloadable files on SteamDB, and developer Playground Games says it is “not the result of a pre-load issue.” It’s possible that a content creator or reviewer with early access broke embargo and made it all possible.

“We are taking strict enforcement action against any individuals found accessing this build including franchise-wide and hardware bans,” Playground said. “We encourage fans to sit tight for the game’s release on May 19.”

The full game is now reportedly appearing on piracy sites, although some who have accessed it say they were able to do so simply by pre-ordering. The player who was first to crack the game says that its files were not encrypted, so it’s turned into a bit of a blame game.

No matter who or what is at fault, Playground says it may be banning people who play it early, and some have taken exception to that by claiming that it was a mistake on the studio’s end and that they should not be punished for playing the game early because of it.

But for those who pirated the game illegally once it leaked, there’s no real argument to be had, so think twice before booting up the game before it’s unlocked for real later this week or next, depending on which edition you buy.
