There are lots of special Star Wars game modes available to play in Fortnite to celebrate May the Fourth and all the festivities that come with it, including an array of tricky missions you can complete for free rewards. One such task asks you to claim Capture Points in Galactic Siege.
This quest is very particular, which means there’s a decent chance you may think you’re doing what it asks, but not see any progress. It’s trickier than you might expect, so here’s how to claim Capture Points in Fortnite Star Wars Galactic Siege.

Claim Capture Points in Fortnite Galactic Siege
To claim Capture Points in Galactic Siege, you need to stand within the boundary of Point A, B, or C and defend the location until it changes to your team’s color. You must be the one to actually claim it. Any points captured by your teammates won’t count for this quest, so if you want to progress in it, you’ve got to be the one who secures the spot.
As you work to claim a point, keep an eye on the diamond with the point name hovering near the top middle of the screen. This icon lets you know how close you are to claiming it, which tells you how long you have to hold your ground against enemies who try to stop you.
Claiming points with your teammates is easy enough in this mode, but being the individual who actually earns the spot is a much tougher ask. There’s no real way to guarantee that you manage to do so, but there are a few ways to increase your chances.
At the start of every round you dive into while working on this mission, immediately head to the Capture Point closest to you. Each team spawns on one side of the map, so by default, there’s always a point that’s closer to each one. I’ve found that I’m almost always the first one to the closest point when I go into the round with this goal in mind, so if you can be too, you’ll secure that first point with ease, thus checking off one for the event quest.
Another method you can use for progressing this mission is keeping an eye out for points that look abandoned. As the round progresses, the enemy team will likely leave at least one of their points undefended. Figure out where the fight is, then make your way to a point that isn’t being contested. Hang around it until it changes to your team’s color to check off another point.
If you’re still struggling, shift your focus to earning enough Credits to select a better class. It’s a lot easier to defend and claim a point all on your own when you’ve upgraded to a Force User or another similar, highly skilled character like Emperor Palpatine or Rey.
Regardless of how you choose to tackle this mission, just keep at it, as you’re certain to get through it eventually. It’s one of the easier missions you can tackle to earn progress toward the event rewards, so it’s certainly one worth prioritizing early on.
Claim three Capture Points in Fortnite Galactic Siege
To check off a key mission in the Unleash the Force quest series, you need to claim a total of three Capture Points. Each one must be captured by you, not your teammates, to gain progress in this mission. You can claim fresh Capture Points at the start of the round, or take over ones from the enemy team to successfully check off points for this task. This is a fairly tough task, so go into it expecting that it might take you a few rounds to get it done.
If you’re in need of a break from the Star Wars chaos, there are lots of other missions you can shift your focus to. Some good ones to work on are restoring health or gaining shields at the healing pools in Squibbly Shores, decrypting a recording from The Imagined at a holotable, finding Chaos Cubes in or around New Sanctuary, and riding on a player’s shoulders to gather intel on their movements.

Dead as Disco is now available worldwide in early access, and you can tweak the in-game settings to get the best performance on your PC. The first few hours have been pretty positive, and I didn’t encounter many stutters or lags.
That said, this guide will solve the problem of any lag if you’re encountering it on your adventure.
Best Dead as Disco graphics settings
Before I deep dive into the settings, here’s how my current setup looks.
- AMD Ryzen 5600G
- NVIDIA RTX 3060 12 GB
- 16 GB of DDR5 RAM
If you visit the Steam page of Dead as Disco, you won’t find the recommended settings. The minimum requirements are present, and this guide is meant for those who have a relatively weaker setup. If you’re having a powerful set of specifications, chances are that the game is running pretty smoothly.
- Window Mode: Windowed Fullscreen/Fullscreen
- Vertical Sync: Off
- Global Illumination Mode: Off/SSGI. Don’t go for Lumen as it will consume more hardware.
- Global Illumination Quality: Medium
- Shadows: On
- Shadows Quality: Medium/Low
- View Distance: Far
- Textures: Medium
- Effects: Medium
- Reflections: Low
- Post Processing: Medium
- Anti-Aliasing: Medium
- Upscaling Method: Use what’s applicable for your device.
- Frame Generation: Off
- Anti-Lag: Yes, if you have an NVIDIA card.
- Chromatic Aberration: On
- Speed Lines: Off
- Frame Rate Limit: 60 FPS
- Frame Rate Limit (Background): 30 FPS
- Frame Rate Limit (Menu): 60 FPS
Since our aim is to get a steady performance, I have kept a cap on the frame rate. While there are higher options above 60 FPS, the limit smoothens the overall performance. I faced no lag at 60 FPS, and it’s sufficient to enjoy the game. This limit can be slightly increased once Dead as Disco receives a few post-launch updates.
Vertical Sync is another option that you should keep turned off. You gain very little from it, while keeping it turned off allows your PC to consume fewer resources. Finally, use an Upscaler as applicable since it will keep the lags at bay.
All said, Dead as Disco‘s day one performance is pretty satisfactory, and I expect it to get better once the early access version moves closer to full launch.
